I know he left us on bad terms but he is just what we need , he played his best football here . If the slimmmy eels are offering him $625,000 per season , then I would offer $660,000 per season , if we don’t get him at least the slimmmy eels will have to up there offer . Would give us a great backrow matterson , papa and joe , with blore and a young bloke at back up

I get that , but do we want to make the finals or do we just continue along this path which leads no where , sometimes u have to do things that u know is not right but u know u can’t get there other wise . And let’s face it we have been knocked back so many times , there’s not any better players out there . I just want to see the tigers with a big strong pack I don’t give a damn what there past as all as they deliver on the park

There's not a chance in hell that Matterson would come back here. He couldn't wait to get out
Matterson is a 600-650k player imo and that is only when he is playing at his best.800+ a year (if accurate) is way overs
The eels offer is reportedly 2.5 million over four years so nowhere near $800k
As much as I hate the guy I think that’s a pretty fair offer. If he didn’t have the history he has here I’d be happy to pay that.

Not only that - Matterson has been MIA, and surprise, surprise, starts to hit some form at contract time. It's the classic Bronson Harrison approach to football.

Funny you mentioned Bronson Harrison, I saw him at the Tigers/Souths game, looks like he could still play, obviously hasn't let himself go after footy.

Sheens job is to get the best team possible together, the coach is to bring them together and win regardless of their personalities and morals.
Next year we are currently struggling to name anyone to line up beside Papa.
Blore if he can get out of the injury ward and then its a lucky dip.
Matto would be an instant walk up starter regardless if Blore is fit. We have no one else atm.
To say we don't need him here with our roster for next year is a very interesting call....
I don't want him but if he signed right I wouldn't be upset, at least we will be stronger next year than we are this year.
