Michael Maguire leaves club

So we are in uncharted waters now.
I guess you'd call it a "rebuild" ?
We have to find another coach that we think is going to suddenly transform our squad into a top 8 side.
But I guess the first excuse he can throw out, after losing his first 5 games is that " he can't work with the sub standard squad he inherited"
It's only fair his ability is judged on players HE chose. So that's what, 2 years to achieve ?
He then needs another year to mould his recruits into a top 8 side.
So now all of a sudden it's 2026.
I'm glad the post-Madge era will be the very first rebuild our stupid club has ever done.
Fancy being stupid enough to have done the same thing over and over and over for the past 10 years ???!!!
What sort of inept club would do that ? A new coach is exactly what we need.
And things will be SO different now.
Recruitment, top line players, bench rotation, win/loss ratios, destination club, everything will be better now.

The Vast majority of People are ridiculing the fact that we would let Madge go.

Do you blame them? Why didn't they do it last year rather than now if they even had doubts - it just doesn't make sense to do it now.
I think we are doomed to another twelve years of the wilderness - not because of sacking Madge but because of the stupid decisions the powerbrokers in this club make. I realise some think this is a good move but if there's one thing I've learnt with this club is they love self-harm.

I wonder how much Doueihi had to do with this call.

Sheens was quoted as saying he may not even play this season, and not for at least a few months. There were also reports Madge had asked players to play when they weren't fit. If Sheens told Madge not to pick AD for another 6-8 weeks, and Madge drew a line in the sand and Sheens flicked him to maintain player wellbeing at the forefront of short term results then I can understand it.

Madge tried his ass off, and was fully committed to the club, can't say that about many these days. But he simply didn't have enough impact with results. Ok he got the boys trying in recent weeks, but that should be a standard not a special effort for the coach.

It makes much more sense to flick him now than wait til off season. We will miss out on 5 months of recruitment opportunities if he remains. I'd expect a replacement to be named within the next week. Obviously the replacement isn't available immediately or else there'd be no need for a caretaker. And next year was always going to be another rebuilding year - unlikely we get instant success but you never know if things just click...

Was Madge the right man to turn around the culture and cap, possibly. Is he the coach that's going to get us in the top 4? I honestly don't think so. We need our next coach to be that man who'll not only turn us into a mildly successful club but into a genuine premiership chance on a yearly basis.
