Unlike some of our previous coaches, Madge had his heart in the right place.

Never made pathetic excuses about taking years to rebuild. Obviously had heaps of passion and saw himself as a Tiger from day one.

For mine though, it's time for a fresh start. Madge had probably lost the dressing room.

But as plenty of wise heads say, sacking the coach does not usually solve the problems.

Good young players did not improve under him.

Our game plan didnt change under him.

Senior players were treated differently to rookies under him.

We went backwards under him.

Im glad we are out from under him.

I trust the decision was made to do this now as it gives us the best possible chance to find the "right" coach to take us back to the finals.

We've had plenty of practice sacking coaches that cant take us to the finals in 10 years mate,you have to eventually fluke it one of these years....especially if you have the MONEY to spend on quality and not have to make do with spare parts as Madge had to on many occasions...

I said it before.
I like Madge and his passion and hard work he put into the place. But in the end, for me anyway, it was not working.
When the team continually underperforms and slides down the ladder there is only one man standing in way of change …. and that is the coach.
No business organisation worth its salt that I know of could / would / should tolerate the cascade of failures which we have been subjected to without action.
So I support the decision and hopefully right choice replacement can become available to take us forward.
I see the same old critics of the Board and the CEO whinging but people ….. Madge was not the right fit …. he tried but failed and should have seen this coming since this time last year.

Yeah nah, i dont do that we dont have the talent thing.

We do and we just need to create the right culture for them to play at their best. most importantly improve as the seasons drag on.

Maguire did not improve the players he brought to the club and he did not improve those that were already here.

Too early to make the observation. I believe there is a plan probably dating back to the first review.

Reports are that Madge will walk away with an 800K Handshake.

He deserves it IMO.

Yes...I saw a couple of notoriously biased Madge fans on FaceBook (who are employees) last week make his case by saying 'this is a man with a mortgage and kids'.

He is getting almost a million dollars.

He will be fine. He is not being sent to the unemployment lines and living off last week's bread.

The writing was on the wall as soon as the mid season review was being pushed in the media, i said it a few days ago. If it was just another run of the mill review they wouldnt be talking about it.
Madge seems like a nice guy he stuck to his guns got to give him credit for that but the fact still remains he took us backwards, he hasnt been able to recruit the way some of us may have thought he could have besides Api and Paps who knows if they will stay or not remains to be seen i guess. You would have to think they and the players would have been sounded out prior.
Probably means we already have an agreement with someone high on the list joining the dots probably Ciraldo seems like the long term target.
Anyway as our old mate 2040 would say "it is what it is"

As much as I want Noffa to shape up or ship out, having 3 of your better paid more senior players leave at once (when we are so poor in depth to begin with) with no replacements lined up cannot be a good thing. Anyways all speculation.

Yes but i’d prefer Madge to have seen out the season. Api & Papi joined for preseason training. A new coach line up and go from there. Not this way. Seems dumb.
