Wests Tigers Coaches

For those suggesting Flanno( vomits off screen ), remember this guy got his success on the back of a drug cheating regime ( insert pic of Chinese "female" swimmers here ), with a squad 5X better than ours, and with $$$ from the development.
And if that ain't enough to make you wonder . . . . he will want his son in the picture as well. And seeing that Kyle is short, he will have to be front and centre of the picture.
Let's just patiently wait out this rebuild.
I mean, a new coach will solve all our problems.
Actually, now that we sacked Madge, we don't have any problems like a shit board, pea-hearted players, lack of depth, team unity, club culture, etc . . . . and we should have signed half the Storm side by now.
Let me check the tables . . . Madge has been gone a few hours now, we should be in the top 8 by now. Our problems were his fault apparently.

Name our depth in the front row please
Offa twal tamou musgrove Stephano I agree we are still a little light on in the front row department but the building blocks are there for the next coach

Sheens didn't just rock up last week to conduct a review. He has been here 8 months so far and we gone further backwards.
All that experience and knowledge was no help to our head coach. All by design.

How old are the people saying it will be great to wait 5 years for ‘maybe’ some juniors to come through while we simply have to put up with pain in the meantime?
Well, I’m not young and I’m tired of waiting.
We already have pathways in place …if Sheens can’t do anything to turn us around any faster then punt him and find someone who can.

Kimmorely seemed keen on being given the opportunity.. to me it wasn't just as caretaker coach...
Guess that comes down on how he and the team goes for the rest of the season ..

We need a coach who is came enough to change the way the whole team plays .. a coach who thinks about how the team attacks and confuses the opposition, .. something better than our current 5 one out hit ups, then a kick (usually out on the full or dead in goal) .. !!

I like Sheens he has done a lot for this club but I’m weary of him. He stayed on too long previously and became very disgruntled when he left. Don’t get me wrong I think he has a lot of positives I just don’t think he is the magic saviour of the club. Time will tell but the future is not looking bright at the moment and wise words won’t change that.

The first section of this video is about ciraldo gives you abit of insight into what he may be like as a coach

It looks like he has a lot to do with penriths defence witch is great

I'm not sure continually terminating coaches early is optimal in attracting the high calibre coaching candidate we are after. I can only assume that the next coach has been identifed and secured otherwise sacking Maguire doesn't seem to make much sense.

Whoever, gets the job needs to be backed to the hilt. As far as I can tell the club now has a strategy in place - invest in our pathways; supplement local juniors with elite junior talent from other systems; judiciously bring in quality senior players at the right price - and we finally seem to have some cap space available to do so. To succeed in the "stacked deck" that is the NRL we need to give this strategy time to work.

I have never been on the sack the CEO, sack the chairman, sack the board bandwagon but if the club again reaches the point where a coaches tenure starts to be questioned then the axe needs to fall above the level of the football department.

I really believe that Sheens is going to turn this basketcase around. I was a big Madge fan until I thought it through yesterday and listened to Tim's comments. We need a coach who can develop the young talent coming through and unfortunately Madge is not that man, he is a passionate man manager suited to international teams but tactically and development wise he is not it. We may well lose the likes of Hastings etc but if they are not invested then who cares. We will be in for some painful years again blooding these youngsters but it will be necessary,it is not like we have been setting the world on fire anyhow. I hope Noddy pisses off some of the older bludgers now such as Tamou, Nofa, Garner, Brooks etc and regardless of results we see some young guys given a crack.
I had confidence that Sheens would turn the club around too, until this sacking of Maguire.
From media reports it appears that the board sacked the coach and coerced Sheens to rubber stamp it.
I suppose if that’s the case it’s as Sheens eluded to , the friction between Maguire and the board was there before his arrival and because they would not re-sign him beyond his current contract, things would not improve. The board is full of fans. The board rewarded its biggest sponsor by giving him the chair. This all points to their hearts being in the right place, their emotional attachment to the club, but sometimes that’s not enough?

I trust that Sheens has taken into consideration when he talks about the younger guys development that a fair few were not playing due to Covid regulations..The effort was there this year with makeshift teams due to a high injury list and young guys given an opportunity in NRL..
If this is the right decision in regard to Madge and the team going in the right direction as far as pathways, development and improvement of individuals goes, then I really hope there is improvement right throughout the club, the coach isnt the only one that should have gone, some in higher places shouldnt be proud of the way this club has gone over the years and it was also their job to improve the way the club is run....

When will we hear anything about the review? I mean apart from the coach getting sacked?

It is just that Madge is not the coach to develop them

I had two things I wanted to be when I was young. I wanted to be a prop forward Blocker style or an Hakeem Olajuwon style centre.

Unfortunately I'm not just a mental midget but also an actual midget.

I'm a little skeptical that any coach can turn someone without the talent or drive into a top line player.

The board lost their nerve in backing Maguire in my opinion - let's hope it was the right decision

Maybe it was time for a change. We've been performing poorly and there has to be some consequences.

I'm just not buying Sheen's 3 year or whatever plan.

Also supporting that is Gus Gould saying players will walk if Madge gets the flick was an attempt to keep tigers away from Ciraldo whom they also seek.
Agreed, I’m bloody sick and tired of Gus using his platform as a propaganda conduit to achieve his own agenda . That BS about support for McGuire was always his disingenuous attempt to keep the tigers weak and complacent. Gus is a liar 🤥
