The future 😂

I don't really get AJ on the wing in state cup.

1. He should be ahead of Nofaluma on form in the NRL side.

2. If...if...you drop him, at least play him at center in state cup.

Will gain absolutely nothing standing outside our state cup centers all game.

Nofo is better than AJ.

Nofo isn't anything special either but with what we've got he makes the FG team every time.

Happy to release them both along with Jet, Talau and Kei.

Need upgrades.

I agree with both your points. Kepaoa hasn't had a good run since returning to show his ability and Nofa did not deserve to be recalled after last week's NSW Cup effort.

However the NSW Cup team changes each week up to an hour before kickoff so AJ may still be in the Centres. I thought Pauga sustained a bad injury last week too so who knows!?

the development of the club starts at this grade and flegg. as many have said before we need to identify the prospects and pick them in the positions we believe they will be playing in first grade long term and stick to it.

Tupou should be on the wing or in the centres. Stephen Crichton-esque in the way he moves across the ground. he's far too quiet to be a fullback.

Kepaoa should be in the centres. he is not a winger and the persistence here is ridiculous. the bloke put Garner away of all people with textbook draw and pass, reminiscient of a centre. I think he should be in firsts as opposed to To'a but if he's going to play Cup play him in his preferred position.

Matamua is a lock. has been ever since he moved from the halves to the forwards after his first couple of seasons in Matts. he's more like Isaah Yeo than he is Josh Schuster. gives us far more width with his passing game and will bend the line with his frame.

for mine, a backline of

1. To'a
2. Tupou
3. Peni
4. Saukuru/Kepaoa
5. Bula

makes far more sense.

Great post. Only I don't think T'oa is best at fullback - his last line of defence is very ordinary, almost like is scared to put his body on the line. He has great ability and I think he is best nurtured as a tackle-busting centre (with a development coach to really work on his defence, particularly 1-on-1).

agree with you on To'a mate, just see more upside in the likes of Saukuru, Peni and Kepaoa and think that their development should be prioritised. To'a is a handy player but for mine he's depth. if we end up signing Kade Dykes then I'd say he'll begin his career at WT as Laurie's understudy.

Ogden seems to possess more natural talent than most of our young three-quarters but doesn't seem to have the application and concentration (prone to a few handling errors).
Would prefer him on the wing, he’s a weapon. Tupou a future centre and Peni won’t be 1sts fullback.
