The reason Todd Payton is now all of a sudden considered a coaching genius is Taumalolo, Cotter, Nanai, Luki, Hess, Robson, Holmes, Drinkwater, the Hammer etc, etc.

Did pretty good with a struggling Warriors side.

Payton mentioned when he declined the Warriors job that he needs to stay in Australia for family reasons. North Queensland was the only other coaching job going at that time.
Does anyone know if he took the cowboys as his first choice? Is his family from North Queensland or does he have family in Sydney. That would ultimately help with understanding if his an option at all.

If his family is in Sydney a trip from Auckland is honestly probably quicker than a trip from Townsville.

No they haven’t been sorted. The problems which were there 20 years ago are still there.
WT need to look at what the worriers have done. For a start they have put the juniors in the same jersey. This is a simple thing but far too hard for some on the board to accept.
