Thanks for the mental movies!I reckon he'd give them a good tongue-lashing.
The reason Todd Payton is now all of a sudden considered a coaching genius is Taumalolo, Cotter, Nanai, Luki, Hess, Robson, Holmes, Drinkwater, the Hammer etc, etc.I recall he is originally from Temora and attended one of the rugby league aligned schools in the ACT.
He did win an U20s premiership with us and while yes there are good players in Nth Qld, Cotter, Nanai and Luki have come through under his coaching. I'm not sure on Hammer. The reason Todd Payton is now all of a sudden considered a coaching genius is Taumalolo, Cotter, Nanai, Luki, Hess, Robson, Holmes, Drinkwater, the Hammer etc, etc.
They’re just Pascoe apologists who read his newsletters. Subscription about 12. Tedesco and many others came through our pathways long ago, nothings changed! Why are you being so defensive? I don’t follow the junior teams, I don’t live locally. I don’t know the answer. It is an honest question.
When I see posters say (and it’s not just you), that our pathways are sorted, my curiosity is peaked. How have they been sorted? Were we not supporting the youth before? Quite a lot of juniors have made first grade. That tells me the pathways to grade were there in some form. How have they been strengthened to the point people are happy in less than 1 year? We have seen no fruits yet…how could we?
Youve also noted the development pathways upgrade has provided a “huge turning point in the turning of the tide” That sounds great but what is it referring to?
He was sticking up for those who hired him. It’s how you keep a job.It was nice to here Sheens sticking up for the club last night and giving the club a bit of back bone. Can guarantee Sheens has more knowledge and footy nouse then you (wouldn't be hard) was actually impressed with how he handled the media and I have full confidence he will get us success with the route we are taking.
Look, I didn't want Madge sacked, but if you can't see from Sheens' comments and then followed up by Noddy's that there is some issue here then that's ok. I see it, I don't want to, but I do.
Your comment about picking and choosing when Sheens is boss man is irrelevant to me. I've never picked and choosed when he is boss. Maybe your confused with other posters. He gave Madge control, now decided to take it away, and a reason is how he is handling players.
No beef just cant cop pot shots to fuel justification when results are, and or lack there of are the start and finish of Maguires fate.Look, I didn't want Madge sacked, but if you can't see from Sheens' comments and then followed up by Noddy's that there is some issue here then that's ok. Hey Paws,I have read all your critique of Madge and how his style doesnt suit the WTs and therefore he was doomed to failure....let me tell you a thing about Rugby League, firstly you have a team of players that KNOW their job, either a halfback, fullback, centre etc...you then formulate a game plan to beat the team your playing the next game, you target the gun players, stick to them like shit to a blanket and make it as hard as you can for them to score points..you then send your best attacking players at the weakest players in their team so you can score points through them...Yes. This is not the first time I have shared this information. The only tip I ever received is from a work colleague, who had been a coach in the lower grades at an NRL club, a scout and now worked full-time as a professional. He told me the day Maguire signed with WTs as he knew I supported the club. I asked him his opinion of Maguire - he said Maguire will not suit the style of football played by WTs. He was spot on with his assessment as I knew he would be. I'm surprised Magpies you are so invested in Maguire that you could not see it.
Wellllllll, one actually.Lot of folks pissing their pants in this thread for no reason
I thought the injury crisis would save Madge. I have been 😮 by how staunch Sheens has been. He appears adamant Madge had to go, almost angry. No beef just cant cop pot shots to fuel justification when results are, and or lack there of are the start and finish of Maguires fate.
We have just come through a massive injury problem if some players are brought back early I can guarantee under the same circumstances every coach will play players not 100% - Sheens included and has - seems to have a short memory of late. Noddy has been there for a hot minute. When and if he is ever in a position when he has to win games to save his career and he is faced with an injury crisis then his opinion may hold a bit more weight - that's all.
Butting heads.I thought the injury crisis would save Madge. I have been 😮 by how staunch Sheens has been. He appears adamant Madge had to go, almost angry.
No they haven’t been sorted. The problems which were there 20 years ago are still there. Why are you being so defensive? I don’t follow the junior teams, I don’t live locally. I don’t know the answer. It is an honest question.

Yep according to the Sheenious…All Madge had to do this season was pick the injury free players - that also happen to be the weakest players in the weakest NRL squad and get them sitting in the 8 after 13 rounds and he’d still have his job. Simple 🤣
Sheens job was never on the lineButting heads.
Sheens pulled the trigger to save his own job.
He is making sure of thatSheens job was never on the line
