It's 100% the cattle. His game plans and structures here couldn't get us into the top 8.It’s a pretty harsh call. he can clearly coach penriths game plans and structures are unbelievable

Can't agree. Cleary is a very good coach and yes he has a great squad but you still need to be able to player manage, strategise and deal with the pressure of expectation at a club like the Panthers.Cleary couldn't get us into the 8 either, and his salary cap management was an outright atrocity. He is a shitty coach currently blessed with a superb roster, largely assembled before he got there.
Your going to pin 10 years of failure on the first grade coach? How many players have we developed over the last decade? How many have joined the club at Flegg or below, and gone onto a long and successful NRL career with us? Brooks and Nof would be about it, and most fans want them gone.
Players leave our club and then usually become better. It's because we don't develop players, they stay at the Same level or eventually go backwards. That's why we need a coach who can develop players.
Oh and Penrith are a development club, is that such a bad model to have?
He had us 1 game away from the 8 with a roster far far worse then the 1 he has nowIt's 100% the cattle. His game plans and structures here couldn't get us into the top 8.
I pin the majority of the cap management on Kelly Egan, and Pascoe for hiring a bloke who has only ever been an assistant coach into a General Manager role.Cleary couldn't get us into the 8 either, and his salary cap management was an outright atrocity. Maybe some FlanoDank brand energy juice performance enhancers. 100% natural-ish.We'd all agree....
I can't ever see Daino hitting that shape or Strength...
He's going to have to find some other way to make it work for him...
You're probably right, but I will continue to put the boot into him even if it's unfair lolHe had us 1 game away from the 8 with a roster far far worse then the 1 he has now
There is no denying Penrith have one of the best rosters in the comp but to say he carnt coach is abit of a stretch
I disagree that their decision was already made. When you lose your 3 best players (at the time), something is wrong with the culture.Cleary had nothing to do with it. They’d already made up their minds to leave. All made the right decision too except for Woods. Absolute cock-up him leaving. A combination of him being an absolute airhead who believed he’d become bigger than the club, and some very bad advice being given to him. Could and should have been a one club player, yet will retire deservedly known as a drifter. I can see him trying to get back into the clubs good graces post-retirement by saying positive things about them. Very glad Madge shut the door on his return to the club this year. Let him flounder on 1 year contracts till he finally hangs them up.
They each had 12 months prior to extend their contracts and they didn’t. I don’t see what a couple weeks under Cleary was going to do. Remember, Tedesco already signed with another club once before. He was just waiting for a better offer. And Woods was the worst captain of any club in living memory. The way he’d be on NRL 360 every week, non-commital, saying nothing positive about the club was weak as piss.I disagree that their decision was already made. There were no criticisms for Cleary on inability to attract quality players despite him replacing Tedesco with Lolohea (and then trying a year later to replace Lolohea with Mbye), Moses with Reynolds etc.
Not to mention having a CEO suspended around this time for cheating just screams out "good culture".
In truth 2 of the 3 would never look back. They each had 12 months prior to extend their contracts and they didn’t. I don’t see what a couple weeks under Cleary was going to do. Was his behaviour a result of the club’s development techniques? I mean a player doesn’t develop ill feeling toward his destination club without some help? They each had 12 months prior to extend their contracts and they didn’t. I've moved on from Woods, the reality is he chose the wrong club to join. If he went to the Roosters he would have played origin the last 5 years. I agree he was a terrible captain, but he didn't make himself captain. They each had 12 months prior to extend their contracts and they didn’t. He shouldn’t accepted the role then. If he wants to go into business for himself, that’s fine. But when you are captain you are mouthpiece for the club.I've moved on from Woods, the reality is he chose the wrong club to join. Thanks mate, Gamble was never going to be a super star, but he was better than what we had, he just never got a goWelcome back. Every time I see gamble have a great game I think of you . We should have you involved in the juniors, you seen something no one else did.
I'm bloody older than that silly old bugger 🤣 Tim Sheens @finnzo so I've got even less time 😉.Yeah for sure Tim sheens job at this club is getting the football team to win games if he thought Madge was the answer could see Madge getting this club to where it needs to be I’m sure Madge would still be here
Tim doesn’t seem to me to be the kind of bloke who makes decisions to please fans or the board he appears to make decision in the best Interest of winning football games
He has been around forever he’s in his 70ns he doesn’t have time to be playing kind games with people
The Other form people know I will stumble about taking the piss from time to time amongst some serious topics, but no personal hate in the game for anyone. Thanks @TSP 🙂 A very good reply.
