Wests Tigers Coaches

Seriously as if this squad, effort and structures which are all terrible would change in half a week. This performance today showed exactly why Madge is gone. We are a complete rabble with his squad.

Whoever becomes the new coach is going to have an ordinary 12-18mths with us as the squad gets worse next year & they get the joy of being stuck with Nofa & Musgrove for another few years. Lucky them.
I thought there were a lot worse than Musgrove, Tamou , Tuilagi , Leilua and Seyfarth should be the first ones out the door

Agree and think that's the whole point of everything, with the recent decisions.
The strength and ability of the roster reflects how poor our systems and especially recruitment methods were/are.
We've been cherry picking fringe first graders from other clubs because of the neglect of our pathways and are now somewhat aiming for a similar situation as Penrith, Cowboys or Broncos.
I'm not to going to pretend that the team is better or more capable than it is nor deny the fact we've not improved under Madge's tenure.
Today's results were totally expected given the circumstances.
We appear to be the least motivated, adaptable and competitive team in the NRL and this is a direct result of habitual responses to what they've been coached.
Miss watching the WTs who always tried to create their own luck not this disjointed and soft crap. Fingers crossed we finally land the right coach for the job.
The team is a reflection of the club’s culture. People have spoken about the club’s DNA. It was just as evident today as it has been in the last decade.
I’ll be interested to see if next years 2 prized recruits also take the line of least resistance and fit in with the culture. A culture that Michael McGuire tried so hard to change.

The coach is accountable for the team's culture though, Ivan didn't struggle to build his -still a poor roster but we overachieved with a roster of has beens.

The clubs DNA will change with Sheens. It will take time we are a rabble at the moment. There’s no way out of this until we start producing our own.

Essentially the board have admitted they screwed when sacking sheens and McDonnell and undoing what they built.

Their work is literally littered in first grade sides apart from us.

Hopefully they can do it again.

The Wests Tigers will arrange to meet with Cameron Ciraldo this week as they up the ante in their pursuit of the Penrith Panthers assistant coach.

The Tigers have declared they want a development coach to replace Michael Maguire
and have identified Ciraldo as their No.1 target.
Tigers officials are aware of the Canterbury Bulldogs’ interest in Ciraldo and are keen to meet the 37-year-old to put forward their vision for the club.

Sources with knowledge of the situation told the Herald that Ciraldo sees plenty of upside at the Tigers given what has been done off the field to set up the pathways and the financial investment the club has made in its football department.

The big question mark is over the roster and whether the club can compete for a title in the next three years.

There’s no doubt the new coach will want to move on certain players given the way they have played in recent seasons. Sometimes that is easier said than done.

It will be up to Tigers director of football Tim Sheens to convince Ciraldo that there is a core group of players, both in the NRL squad and coming through the junior system, that is worth taking the risk on.

I don’t know what game you’re watching then.
Our forwards were not just dominated against they were spanked. only ones who had a dig was Joe and Twal. Lids effort was high & him coming off changed the dynamic I thought.

Nofa needs a good long sting in reserves also he just looked totally not interested today.

Our halves are shot and we need to try something different.

Our 2nd halves are diabolical. Worst in the comp. Our bench is totally ineffective.

I’m expecting we will see some team changes happen over the next 6 weeks. Commit to the rebuild and play some kids who are hungry.

All good but that's actually the responsibility of the coach to set team standards and culture.
Then in that case we will agree to disagree.
The players know that the carpet can be pulled from under the coach at any time, so the standards he sets can be questioned.
If your immediate superior has been called into the owners office and given a warning notice and a second warning notice , then a final warning notice, during a 9 month period, how much of what he says hits the target in the cortex?
It is so important that those in power have the awareness to know that it is they who set the standards for the entire organisation.
This is why the thought of signing a good coach or the next good player is not working.
I’m not trying to convince you or anyone else, just saying what’s on my mind.

We just don't have the squad to compete. They were also undisciplined out there today.
Ok Earl Im hearing ya,but why could they put in great performances to beat Parra and Souths with a lot of top 17 players sidelined...in those efforts they completed at high rates, played for 80 and were disciplined...what has changed for everyone to bag Madges structures....could it be that the team at nearly full strength may as well stayed in the grandstand..?? and let the fringies play....

Positive news ..
I don't care how long it takes
Just get the deal done

I dispute we had alot of top 17 players sidelined in those 2 games. People use our injuries as an excuse AD & Stefano sure, maybe Blore but who else? Most clubs have a similar if not worse injury toll than we do to their top 17.

Bigger issue has been actually poor performances or bad coaching of our new recruits (Gildart & Peach) who were going to be crucial top 17 roles.

Our forward pack and halves have actually been stable since those games.

Laurie has been missing. JTJ out and Gildart we gave up on are the main differences roster wise. So really 1 hit in Laurie counts.

For the team that played today only difference from the Eels/Souths was really Naden for JTJ and no Mika on the bench.

Okay and look I understand what you're saying in regards to the club's poor brand and that it hindered our ability to recruit certain talent however I'm specifically talking about the coaching role and their job requirements in building team culture and performance.
I don't believe for one minute that our negative reputation affected Madge's coaching ability nor helped shape the attitude of players. If that's what you're implying.
Like Hartigan was responsible for our recruitment - and wasn't successfully doing his job, I look at it in the same with Madge. Which is why I always felt it unfair he was blamed for not gaining players.
It's specifically what Sheens addressed in saying that we'd like a coach who is willing and able to work with the team's limitations.

CC’s just put his price up 10% after today.

We should send Lee out in his Ambulance Interceptor, arrest CC, chain him to COE and beat him until he agrees to coach us.

Or is anyone game to ring Madge up and say Pascoe was drunk when he sacked him?
