Two wooden spoon GFs in a row

We are currently on 8 points but neither the Dogs nor Worriers have had their bye points yet. We have the worst +/- of the three teams - it's nut up or roll over time.
I hope I'm wrong but I've got the sinking feeling we will have wee drops on our tummies.

I've thought about the phrase "wee drops on tummies" for a good 5 minutes and I may have figured it out.

What I think Mikey is referring to is "wee" as in small and he wrote " on our tummies" but meant IN our tummies. Meaning a sinking feeling. BUT! the thing that throws my theory out is that if I'm right, he wrote that he has a sinking feeling about a probable sinking feeling. Very intriguing.

Our mob have hit the wall big time and it’s very hard to turn things around once that has happened.

Its nothing new, it happens most years at about this time. The weekly grind sets in and we go into a rapid decline. Funny thing is, we should be on the improve, injured players are coming back and zero disruption from SOO.

It all comes down to a real soft under belly right across the joint. Sometimes I think Flanagan might be the bloke needed to put some fire into their bellies, it certainly worked for the Dogs yesterday. They went out yesterday wanting to hurt in both attack and defence.

Anyway going to be a very long couple of months

Reality is if we don't win both we will end up with the Spoon this year.

The Bulldogs played well yesterday but the Eels played the worst game they have played for years. They literally handed the game to the bulldogs. They are due for some form and hit it 1 game, let's hope for us they regress quickly and we come out firing - start fast is the key against the Bulldogs.

The Warriors if there ever was a game for them to turn up it will be their 1st home game in NZ since COVID lockdowns and won't be easy at all for us.

End of the day the players have shown they can perform it's on them to deliver.

Good try but think about roll over (clue - dogs do this when submitting) 🙂

For mine, there seems to be a really big gap between teams 12-16 and everyone else this year.

Eight of our 11 remaining games are against the clearly better teams ranked 11 or higher.

We're going to need to do something special, especially with the teams ranked behind us having the bye points up their sleeve.

The upcoming games against the dogs and warriors are make or break.

Definitely don't need the softly softly approach. That might be fine for pathways but once in FG they need to man up or don't play FG - which means working harder as individuals to improve their own game. I was deadset against Flannagan but I think he is the only option long term.
Kinda liked a punt on the Walker Bros for a year just to see what they can do - but can't see it happening.
I believe we would absolutely destroy Ciraldo. There is nothing at our club in essence that closely resembles his experience at Penrith.

To roll over and pee on yourself isn't a family heirloom but may be generational. Heard it a million times. 🙂
Good op @mikey 👍: You've given us an opportunity to think🤔 about and talk 🔠📣about something a bit off beat maybe? to help take our minds momentarily, of the Very Sad passing of Geo 😢.

Jesus it's that time of the year already? All it takes is one soft try and then the floodgates open. Some of us may have to stop watching for mental health reasons. I already started in the Manly game by switching off with 20 to go.

Legitimate question. Who would wait around for this 5 year plan? I'm barely interested in watching them now due to their efforts and lack of results. 4-5 years for us too see results? Please. If they don't show improvement in next 12 months, then I will not be interested in waiting another 4 years to be competitive. Not to win the comp, to be competitive.

Crazy to be honest.

Yep every two years we get a sermon, be patient we are about to start a rebuild. This year it’s different, it’s not a re build, the buzz word is development club. Of course the projected time frame is basically the same as a rebuild and of course members and fans will be asked to show patience. Also judging by past efforts the chance of success are minimal .

Although as always I will go along for the ride, they must get it right eventually

No I think the 'golden shower theory' in an earlier response was the correct one.
