This situation is nothing like how we rolled over for Matterson and Aloiai.

Its definitely the right call to let him go, use the money to either ease next years cap, or entice an extension out of someone by giving them extra this year.

We have had some rough years but never have I seen the club give up publicly, especially this early in the season. I know we aren’t going to make the finals this year but it’s still a kick in the guts to all us members and fans who sacrifice time and money supporting this team.

Thurston never won a game at Leichhardt in his whole career IIRC. If he was playing nowadays with the way players flop between clubs he would win a couple of games a year there.
