Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

WHAT a sad life you have. You would know nothing about this rugby player yet you claim he will be a dud. Actually we have signed Koroisau and Papali'i. We signed an unknown school boy footballer a few years ago. No doubt you would have moaned about this signing as well. If you don't know who this person was, his name was Marshall. Get a grip and see how things work out instead of crapping on the club every chance you get.

Lol. Yeah ok I have a sad life because I'm questioning how far bargain bin signings are going to get our club which sorely lacks NRL level talent and hasn't made the finals for 10 years is gonna get us.

Yes I know little about him but it is extremely unlikely statistically, and objectively, that he will end up a good first grader. I'm hoping he does just like I hope Brooks by some miracle turns a corner and becomes a first grade standard half each week.

Signing Marshall as what, a 17 year old? is a completely different story. No problem at all with us actually going after promising juniors, can never have enough of those.

But the club's having a laugh trying to excite people signing reservge grade yawnion players while we've got half a pack signed for next season and are in the battle for the spoon this year.

we must agree that no one is perfect (even Bellamy, Bennett or Sheens 🙂), but Sheens, identified so many great players (for the WT, even legends e.g. Marshall, Farah, Tuiaki, Ellis, Dwayer, Fifita, Prince etc.) like no other WT coach!

Wish I could hang my hat hat on a lucky decision I made 20 years ago...
Ryan O'Hara, Danny Galea, Sam Harris, Jamahl Lolesi ring a bell?
For every feather in Sheens cap from back in the day, There's plenty of negatives.

ps: They Played Tuiaki at 2nd row for about 2 Years before they worked out he was a winger.
Lolesi went alright , i saw him play ok

um . That’s a weird take on Tim sheens career dude .
You could literally name 50-60 players he plucked from no where to be a gun .
Off the top of my head ;
Ricky Stuart , ken nagas , noa nadruku , Brett Mullins , Ruben wiki , Laurie Daley , Benji Marshall , Tanilla Tuiaki .
And he’s had many many more who should of succeeded but didn’t . Guys like Ben Murdoch Masilla , Diane Laurie etc .
I’m sure there’s hundreds more
Marika is another one .

Also those are the ones no one knew about FYI . Ex rugby players or guys straight from nz or Fiji .
That’s not even including the Farah , Brad Clyde types who were weapons the whole way through .

You read half of what I said...
What's he done in the last 10 years - apart from be moved on by lower level super league clubs

Most names on that list Debuted 20 years ago - Some almost 40 years ago.

I'm a Sheens supporter, How he's seen here as someone who will single handedly lead us to some greatness now - When he couldn't do it as a coach with generational players 10 years ago is beyond me.

Agree 100%. I can though see why some him as that though.
Unless we get some quality players, depth, the pathways flowing and a great coaching setup Sheens will just be another one who failed.

Sooner this club comes together as a team to deliver the results needed the better.
No single person will change this place

I don't see Sheens as the savior. I do think there needs to be quality team to deliver longer term success.

I view Sheens the same as whatever coach we get. They aren't that important.
