Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

My mate who is a trainer at the jets , told me today that dykes is no chance of signing for the tigers, he will be re signed by the sharks and will be there 5/8 next year, another one we have missed

Dykes is a Mimis managed player

Yes we do , we are running near last and get bashed every week in the forwards , we need some nasty hard Norse players , this is NRL not church cup. You want to keep running 9 th or worst butface
No I fkn hate losing. But I also hate shit low life people who think they can threaten to kill people in their own homes. I know how home invasions go down and it is terrifying for the victims I have literally seen a man piss himself. Also lodge stalked two women up the street telling them he was going to kill them. He should not even be allowed to play at any level. But greenturd was piss week. And he is not even that good. You reckon an average prop is out savour do you? Anyway still a no to Lodge for me, and my thoughts on this will not change no matter how desperate the rest of you get. I have had worst times than this I used to go for the magpies in the 80’s so this is nothing.
Go the Tigpies!!!
For Life but not for a life.

Disagree, we need youth. Experience gives you nothing these days. Youth is where it's at. Brown is hopeless.
You can't just have kids all over the park. "Development" club or not you still need players to show the way on field - case in point the game against Souths where we had (I think) Asu and To'a torn to shreds (Johnston hat trick) on the right side.
Brown would run at the line like the crazy bugger he is which I don't think is a bad example....

we still need hard nosed players to help the young guys coming through regardless Of a players past as it should not matter if the nrl let them play , they are the rule makers and if it’s good enough for the Bronco and Warriors it is fine by me , I get everyone has their own ideas and that’s fine to but Lodge and Brown over 2 years will help our players like Steph , Blore , Papi and co , I know what Lodge did was wrong but he’s been clean now no different if you do time for your crime once your out you should be able to start fresh

Surely Twal is working his way back into being a starting prop.

Eels are going to want to replace all the forwards they're losing.
We will have some competition for recruitment over the coming months.
I like Twal and most times when he is on the field our defence looks good and he can play good mins. No better way to start a game with solid defence and get into the game.
He is the guy every team needs without all the show pony stuff.

Agree with this 100%

Hopefully now Madge is gone we stop picking Musgrove in the starting side and Twal can start. I think Twal needs to be used for big minutes to get the most out of him.

Obviously $$$ dictates who we target, but personally I would be looking at:

Ryan Sutton, Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Jackson Topine, Nikora, Franklin Pele, Kevin Proctor, Sione Fainu, Jorge Taufua, Ryan Matterson, Tom Opacic, Angus Crichton, Lachlan Lam

And retain:

Jock Madden, Tommy Talau

Obviously we all have a different take/value, but what I think it does show is that there is not a lot out there. Parra, Melbourne and the Dolphins will also be trying to do the same. Players (managers) have the upper hand atm.

One thing in our favour is our newly declared development club status, which means we should have the most money in our cap available for a few high value targets, seeing as how most of club should be "kids" on lower money.

This was posted on the Sharks' forum. Don't know who is in the know!

Apparently Dykes is a done deal at the Tigers according to those in the know at Wests.

This is why you wait until something is official. Who the ... knows what is happening.

I hope we sign him though.

Didn't The POM originally post that he was all but signed for 23 and we were hoping to get him for the rest of 22? My guess is that someone from the Sharkies forum has visited here and reported that post. I know a few of ours visit other forums to gather info (and for a laugh). So rumours upon rumours, by the looks.

I'd deadset be signing him to play 6 if we can get him to come across. Brooks and Nofo can head for the exits.

1. Laurie
2. Tupou
3. Doueihi
4. Kepaoa
5. Maumalo
6. Dykes
7. Hastings
