Geoff Toovey is a chartered accountant. He obviously is grouse at balancing the books and has a background in the game.
Might be a good CEO with the passion we need. Oh and balance the books of course.

I've got many things wrong over the years, but like you I was bitterly disappointed when Payten left the club. He was earmarked as a future coach when he was playing, experienced success with the u20 team and loved the club. And he still does. If we could get him back it would be a massive coup.

The week after we play them, all other 3 bottom four teams get the bye (titans, dogs, warriors) which means 2 free competition points.

If we lose to Warriors we will be last. If Titans beat Knights we will be outright last...

We NEED to beat Warriors to at least show that we are not a complete shambles on the field. Or do we need to hit rock bottom so that our resurrection over the next few years under the new coach will be more miraculous?

On their return to Mt Smart after 2 years not likely. Every refereeing decision will go their way - the NRL need them to get their act together. Even the media were saying what a great effort they put in after Penrith put 40 on them. If we crawl off the bottom doubt it will be from this game.

The club has leaked that it’s not going to wait around indefinitely.

We need a new coach pronto for obvious reasons and I think the club is right to put him on notice.
