Wests Tigers Coaches

Madge couldn’t do anything in the first 2 years due to cap issues and there wasn’t a lot of options last year and this and we are still paying Mbye. Madge had them playing above their ability all the years he was here. The coach was never the issue.

You need to look at the interference and mismanagement from higher up in the organisation for the reasons of our failures of the last 11.5 years. It was never the coach.
I have full respect for your views Mike, but I'm not sure what you mean by "mismanagement from higher up" etc
Would you like to expand on that?

I’m sorry ….. but I’d maybe employ Tooves to count my money but never near the CEO‘s Guernsey.
I have read a lot of different opinions today on the coach,CEO,footy dept etc,we are all pretty peeved off at the moment as we are passionate about our team and club...
I will say in my business experience the whole club should have an internal review with blunt honesty...
Pascoe gets hammered, but our financial status if very good,Lee should just stick to the boardroom matters...
For way to long we have been told how good we are going to be NEXT YEAR,then its oh,the NEXT YEAR...
The whole joint should get their acts together, let the football dept deal with the football matters, either recruitment, retention or development of juniors..
The board should make decisions in regard to financial maters such as outgoings, sponsorship and fundings available...
There should never be a BOYS club allowed in the place, respect each individual for what they are employed for and if possible help with positive input and no negative whiteanting etc...
I said this before...
THE BOARD does not get involved with the daily operations of the business..the CEO addresses staffing and operational duties...the CEO answers to the board and he gets his "directives from the board"....
So if these guys are fairdinkum about change they MUST have a look at the club as a WHOLE not just pick one area and try and find a solution that suits their own agenda, but one that benefits the club overall...

END OF SPAT....

New ceo, new coach, new anything will not make any difference till we can bolster our roster and the further we slip the harder it becomes to attract players
In order to bolster our roster we need the perception of the club to be different.

The current administration has created the current perception. I do not back them to change it.

My only consolation is the thought of Madge in a soft, white robe (potentially with a Persian thread count of 200+), sipping on a warm cup of cocoa at a relaxing day spa. Despite laying in a warm tub, full to the brim with bubbles, his old team has somehow come away more relaxed than his retreat brochure promised him.

I supported Madge as coach while he was here. He is now gone. However true it was, the media had him painted as hard task master. So the three things that attract/retain footballers, as with most "jobs", are money, success or a good work environment (the Google effect). It looks like our admin, after being burnt by long term "vet" contracts, took the option of paying overs away, to either attract or retain talent, so one avenue gone. Success has also been missing, so choosing between a Melbourne/Roosters or the Tigers becomes a no brainer; another avenue taken away. This leaves good work environment. Shitty training facilities are being improved with the COE, but why come to a team with a hard task master when a friendly goofball like Trent Barrett is an option? Maybe getting a coach with a better perceived image, coupled with the COE and slight overs might be enough?

The ones who go for the good working environment probably enjoy having August/September at the pub too.

What a ridiculous argument. How would any of us know what executives might be available? I know for sure there would be plenty who wouldn’t hang around for 7 failed years.
We've had 20 odd years of Executives making bad choices... Longer if you want to go further back.
While he's come up short on occasion - The one we have now is the only one that's actually achieved anything positive for the club - Out of all of them.

I recall a time where I would wake up excited to go to WT games, we were known as everyone’s second favourite team. That period wasn’t so bad.

Back when we had good players - generational talent

that still couldn't get us in the finals...

I have no problems with this happening...
We are a business and need to get going so your either in or out..
I don't know how long this deadline is but assume he has had a few weeks and if his still unsure maybe his not the right coach for us.

He is a smart man and would of been thinking about this for a while now so we move to option 2 before that's gone. I also think we want to start extending players like Hastings , AD , Laurie before we lose them..
As long as its not Kimmorley I will be happy
I just watched Noddy's post match presser and I gotta say I liked how he spoke.
But what the bh is goin on here?
We have not 1 inexperienced coach attempting to show our blokes how to catch a ball, but 2 inexperienced coaches with Farah apparently as his assistant.
That combination just blows my mind whenever I think about it.

Yep, the idea is to get as many players as possible at or near optimum on game day.

And there are probably a lot of variables that contribute to that ambition, but we haven’t seemed to nail it.

Tim would be across all that I guess.

Part of the solution is obvious, new players.
