Just a quick re-cap . . . .
We are in a worse position now, than when we sacked Madge.
I mean, we are playing EXACTLY the same, but we don't have a first grade coach and our wunderkid choice has rejected us. We look even worse to the NRL world than we have for some years.
Since sacking Madge, all we heard about was how we needed a development coach.
Ciraldo was the answer. Nobody else was even courted.
Now, all of a sudden since being rejected by CC, development isn't a thing anymore and nearly every one of you is wanting Flanno.
I'd laugh if he also turned us down and we go back to Morris and his development attributes.
Lucky we sacked Madge. Just look at the difference !
We have no plan, no idea.
Maybe a 4 year rebuild is needed if and when we find a new coach. That should do it.

Bring on 2027…can’t wait!

I would have thought the well-being of young players is an overwhelming argument. Here's another, that sponsors don't wish to be associated with that type of negative press.

I hated Flannagan with a passion but I want results and the only way forward to achieve that is with a roster - I know already he can coach. I think he is the only one available that could draw some quality to a club that consistently can't. Sheens needs to pack away the ego and development coach stuff or bloody take it on himself.

Things will get better but it’s going to take a few years yet before we are contenders for the 8… I just wish the club would be upfront and acknowledge this. I doubt Sheens will stick around beyond 2024….unless the top To bottom changes are made

My opinion is that Sheens is clearly a major problem. He was the one who sacked Madge and went with the development coach line and then told everyone CC was the no 1 target.

This debacle is basically all on Sheens. They employed him to manage the football side of the business and this is the result.

We aren't in a bad position at all. We don't have a stuffed cap, we appear to be focusing on juniors and we have some decent signings coming in next season in position where we are weak.

This is a plum role for a coach and to be honest we'll get a better credentialed coach than Ciraldo. You can't guarantee the coach will be actually perform better but whoever we choose will be a lower risk proposition compared to Ciraldo.

It is very disheartening to see the lack of professionalism play out the way it has. Sacking Madge before a replacement was secured.

I disagree with this. The right approach is to sack the coach and then work through the replacement options. It's called integrity.

The problem is Sheens is incompetent and he executed this like a second rate fool.

Pretty much agree with you, always thought he was a grub.

But I have listened to him commentating etc and he seems pretty switched on , normal and you can't deny his wins at sharks. Although as I write this , sounds a bit like Madge. 🤣

Sheens from day one of the Madge sacking has said it’s all about development and he wants a development coach. So basically there were two so called development coaches in the market place, one just knocked us back and the other is Bomber Morris. So I guess it’s his gig if he wants it.

Funny thing I thought all coaches were in the business of development. Anyway who ever gets the gig needs to get all the players together, read them the riot act and offer any player a release who doesn’t want be part of the place.

Woohoo we're finally seeing the Wests Tigers play off the cuff...pity it's from our management though.

Don't care whether the next coach is second choice - we've previously went for Bellamy and Bennett first. Or a replacement wasn't secured - Ivan came in pretty quickly for Taylor.
I'd hope it's not done in haste (to land the right coach) but not too long where player retention and recruitment is impacted.

However, I wish they'd do their business similarly to the Papalii and Korisau recruitments. Don't tell everyone our plans. Be ruthless and just get the job done in the background.
Love signing announcements yet rejections being publicly declared feels like a kick in the guts.
