Wests Tigers Coaches

It's pretty well known in coaching circles that Ciraldo was put off by how Lee spoke to Rob Bechara via text message. Thought it was incredibly unprofessional and gave him second thoughts about signing here (word is he had a verbal agreement, just nutting out the details). Lee once again puts his foot in his mouth.
Rob Bechara pasted Lee’s text on Twitter. This from a guy who has savaged our club relentlessly about too many leaks coming out of Tigers HQ. I understand Rob is not happy about how the club is run but quite hypocritical all the same.

A complete farce.

They should have interviewed 3 or 4 min….

Worked out exactly how interested Ciraldo was….

Kept everything in house…

...and the moment they picked up on his lack of intent, put a line through him (and others) and then made their decision / announcement of Morris / whoever gets it.

That way Morris / whoever gets it looks like 'a preferred candidate' also... and we don’t look like a rejected basket case (yet again)...

Whoever gets it now will look like a very clear second choice / not who we really wanted. Just so unprofessional...

I don't even know what to say anymore.

The more you think about it the more confusing it gets seriously all us fans can see this isn’t the rite way to go about business how have these muppets fallen into jobs like this it blows my mind

I have to admit running this club would not be an easy task but some times we just ask the media to write negative articles about us

Why can't the club have common sense like you do. These clowns managing this club need to move on immediately including Sheens. I've really have enough of the crap from this club.

We need talented young players all of which (for the most part) have mums and dads who entrust the club with their sons' and daughters' well-being.
You make it sound so dramatic Paws "entrust the club with their sons and daughters well-being".
Wow!!!
What Flanno did was just plain desperate.......for his Team to Win that is.
And I feel he would be just as desperate for WT to WIN.......without doing anything stupid.
He's taken his punishment and has been forgiven by the NRL from the fact he is allowed to coach again.
How about you feeling its time to forgive him as well.

Players were being injected with substances that they still don't know what they were, so I don't think it is dramatic to say he was placing the health of those players at risk.

I swear I remember you arguing the same point with Paws last year, and he was defending Flanagan but now it seems you both agree?

Penrith Panthers boss Brian Fletcher has booked lunch with Cameron Ciraldo’s manager, George Mimis, for Thursday this week.

They are expected to agree on a one-year extension for Ciraldo to remain with the premiers as Ivan Cleary’s assistant and defence coach.

It follows Ciraldo’s decision to reject a big-money five-year offer from the Wests Tigers over the weekend.

There will be other opportunities for Ciraldo this time next year for 2024, including Melbourne Storm. There could also be Newcastle and St George-Illawarra.

This guy is a carbon copy of Cronulla Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon in that he is prepared to be patient and wait for the right opportunity at the right time.

Not that good jobs come up all that often.

The successful clubs higher up the ladder usually stick by the staff they already have.

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis spoke highly of Ciraldo.

“Cameron rang himself on Saturday evening and was very professional and very courteous,” he said, “He was complimentary of the club but felt the timing wasn’t right.”

But where to now for the Wests Tigers?

“Tim Sheens will look at all other options and make a recommendation to the board,” Hagipantelis said, “There are still some impressive people out there who are showing interest.”

We are now hearing the names of Shane Flanagan and John Morris as the most likely candidates.

Morris has Wests Tigers DNA. He played 72 games for the club between 2007 and 2010.

He was a 300-game player and in coaching he made the top eight at Cronulla two years in a row.

And then Flanagan.

He built the Cronulla Sharks from rock bottom to win the 2016 premiership.

He is a proven development coach that Tim Sheens says he is looking for.

At some stage he needs to be judged on his coaching record, not the mistakes he has made and been punished harshly for.

Reading that Flano has the job he is a proven development Coach the Tigers need desperate and Flanagan is That

And he can Bronson Xerri with him

I hated Flannagan with a passion but I want results and the only way forward to achieve that is with a roster - I know already he can coach. I think he is the only one available that could draw some quality to a club that consistently can't. Sheens needs to pack away the ego and development coach stuff or bloody take it on himself.
But Our Club does need a 'development coach' @Telltails and it seems Noddy was employed by WT to do that.
But first we need the best coach available to beat [or otherwise get] our senior players into shape.
My two bobs worth from the names that have been thrown around are Flanno with Morris as his Assistant Coach or Woolf.

Flanno did when he publicly said that he reached out to the Dogs to no response.
Maybe had something to do with Flanno coming out and saying they had no idea how to coach his son and he would have him firing if he was coach. Clubs - especially those with Gus in control don't like being told they haven't got a clue.

Bemnet played for Australia and Robinson played a fair bit of grade. I'm talking about grade, not first grade.

Anyway, that's my concern with Wolfe. What I do like about him is that he is a former teacher, and having an ability to communicate with current players is paramount.
Pre NRL but i remember a coach who had no playing record and was an ex school teacher. Probably should have won a premiership at 2 different clubs.
