Wests Tigers Coaches

Morris was at the Sharks for years in different roles. His last two as head coach getting the team to two finals series. Imagine if he had achieved that at WTs. A harmonious dressing shed where all players are working for the common good goes a long way. I'm sure also the news gets around among other players and impacts recruitment.
And then he got knifed for Fitzgibbon.....he would have a point to prove for sure.

Brooks deal wasn't even running out when Madge extended it, he had nearly 2 years to go, so it didn't have to be done so quick or at all. As for Moses, Cleary didn't sign Brooks over Moses, he pulled Moses contract to sign Teddy, Moses got the poos and wanted out. Thee big 3 all left, so Brooks was the last man standing and got a contract
I try to block out some of these events so my memory may not be perfect on this, so I checked.

Madge signed October 2018, Brooks who has just been crowned dally M contract halfback of the year had been in negotiations with the club already as he could negotiate with other clubs for 2020 November 2018. In December 2018 it's announced he has re-signed. So Madge had 1.5-2 months in pre-season to decide on him.

As for Brooks vs Moses, Ivan pulled the contract according to this: https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/s...e/news-story/03d3fcd18ad38cc93efb635bee1c0401

"So once Cleary had a half confirmed with Luke Brooks’ signing he told Moses’ management the deal was off the table. The priority was to sign prop Aaron Woods and fullback James Tedesco and if there was money left they would look at Moses."

Coaching is becoming a young man’s game. I follow the NFL and most (not all) new head coach hires are young guys. I think the NRL is following suit.

Morris is as good as it gets for us IMO. A development/pathways background, 2 years head coaching experience, 300+ games, has been at the Wests Tigers, knows Sheens, experience at another club as an assistant (Souths), not too young, not too old, and apparently well liked and respected as a coach.

Sign him up....why wait around? He is a good option.

Imagine if Morris knocked back the coaching job. Wish the club would just shut the hell up and let these things play out behind closed doors.

They have. All we've heard is BS from posters on here. There has been nothing at all from the club.

You gotta fix the problem yourself, can't expect others to come in and fix anything.
Can't expect to sign good players when we regularly play shit.
Can't expect footballers to be professional athletes when those paying them are anything but professional.

Madge should have helped us fix the issue. Sheens, Pascoe, Lee, Kimmorley etc.. it's their job now to fix us. Hiring the best coach available, hiring his assistants etc is just a very small part of the process. You have to be professional from bottom up.

Run it like a professional sports club, not your local footy team.
