What is wrong with our club ?

Our finances, our logo, our COE, our signings for next year.
I believe our pathways systems should be there too.
Like others have alluded to, we're not really privy to the inner workings of the club and can't really make too many comments around this.

So going from that and some of what others have suggested, we've lacked a capable response team to handle crisis management and communications (PR and branding).
We've had poor recruitment and retention officers.
Coaches who are unqualified for the team's needs, not to mistake with uncredentialed but rather coaches who have either been too overwhelmed or simply ill equipped to bring innovative solutions to the Wests Tigers - helping the team develop practical skills for the current (and future) game and building a competitive roster.
I believe over the past decade we've also lacked the right governance structures.
That we've never had a leader that can steer the ship but is also accomplished and stern enough to have everyone in the organisation moving in the same direction. Someone who oversees all standards and practices - to ensure we remain competitive.

What’s right? 🤣

Centre of excellence is being sold as the things the club needs to excel. Do people really think that a new flashy buildings and equipment are going to lift these players magically to the next level.

Finances - sure we’ve made money but no on field success will erode that in the future as you will have no fans. As my six year old says “if you’re a tigers fan you’re a loser fan” - this is what kids think of this club in playgrounds across the city. Where do new fans come from to keep us financial.

Pathways - this is something we are building but if you look at history most of our quality juniors take off at the first opportunity.

The club made 2 good signings for next year and than went back to signing rugby players, kids, and reserve grades. Our squad actually looks weaker next year if you look at what we have lost and the replacements as a whole.

What’s wrong with this club is that people higher up think that what has happened for the last ten years or more is okay. As long as it’s not their arse on the line they are happy to go along with whatever.

I hope so, but the proof of the pudding's in the tasting.
The success with our juniors could also be seen as a positive too though I suppose. IIf we can manage to hold onto the most talented and build a better team in the next couple of years, by gaining several high calibre players, we'll have a more solid foundation for them when the time comes.
So increasing or improving our talent pool, for depth as well, is another.

Two very big ifs in there:
1. If we can hold onto the best talent
2. If we can gain several high calibre players

Given the rising number of junior rep players , our odds are slowly but surely increasing and because I consider Korisau and Papalii in this category, feel it's also a start.
Don't get me wrong I know we currently suck but I was really only commenting on what strategies they've gotten right.

We’ve got potential talent coming through but we regularly lose these players to successful clubs or keep the ones who don’t really kick on. Benji and Farah are the only high calibre players that have come through our systems and stayed with the club and had success (respected across the league, rep honours). Hopefully that changes but we can’t live on hope alone. Api and Papalii are quality players but the rest of are side is either untried or average at best. I like your optimism and looking at the bright side outlook but if you take away the gloss we are running in quick sand.
