Lets look at this:

Brooks, since 2013: try assists 106 from 187 games
DCE, since 2014: try assists 158 from 194 games
Moses, since 2014: try assists 133 from 188 games

But Brooks could put Teddy through a gap!

He's done mate.

They're all impressive stats and DCE and Moses are great half backs.

Yes, that's my fault for getting into debates with people who follow players instead of clubs. I am convinced that one of Paws' sons that they routinely refer to is Brooks.

Brooks is paid marquee money. If he wants to collect the pay cheque he has to carry the weight of playing to a standard that justifies that. He doesn't - and something has got to give. Whether he is the best of an ordinary lot would be a reasonable arguement if he wasn't getting paid significantly more.

I love comparing his stats to 2 of the best halves in the comp last few years.
When no one is suggesting he's better than the elite halves in the comp...

But we don't have them, Happy to get them - But there's only so many of them
and we don't have them....

Yep don't know exactly but anything close to what has been reported - which is all anyone goes on - is inflated for the level of his performance. There is nothing to show that can justify it.

People can laugh at others for defending him, but at the end of the day, the club has stuck by him and no coach has ever dropped him. And no one claims it’s because he’s a superstar. That’s a take that a lot of his bashers just assume is the case with anyone that sticks up for him. As @batboy keeps saying over and over, there are no better options at the club than him. That can always change if the club decides to pursue a marquee half, but for now, he’s our best available option. And the proof of that is that he is named every single week. It’s pretty easy to chop and change halves, but he is always the constant.
