Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yeah he has been a tad quiet this year. I haven’t watched a lot of Parra games. Maybe injured?
Just before he got picked for origin he was going great. He was dreadful in 2 Origin games and has never been the same since. Funny how that happens to some. Step up a level and fail and it effects their club footy. Nathan Merrit was never the same after origin too. Maybe last week was a sign he is about to regain some old form. If we sign him, let's hope that's the case.

We can thank Madge for letting Mavoni Taufua go when many on here were up-in-arms about this hard-running aggressive junior going to the Dogs. Certainly in with the wrong crowd.

Can't read the article but Mavoni
Wasn't involved, its alleged that
Iverson Fuatimau drove the
getaway car to a home invasion
where a gun was produced - he's
fighting the allegations in court,
career/freedom is on the line ...

Has ave 48 min, 108m with 42 post contact and 27 tackles this yr in what has been a down season
I'm getting talked into this. I watch him and myself and my son laugh at how he gets stopped on the spot every run but acts like he is a beast. Then stats suggest he is making post contact metres. If he signs ill cop it and hope you guys a right

He's not what he used to be, but his skill is his speed and getting quick play the balls. His post contact metres are not great but I'm sure he's coached to fall on his front and get up and play the ball quickly.

His stats there are fine but he is on a good contract now. He is also at the end of his career. The thing is you are paying him for what he can do next season. Will he start breaking down ? Will Parra throw in some money ?

He would probably be on what Stef is on now. I just think it's a signing with a lot of risk on us.

I also suppose it depends on our current salary cap position and the players that are available.

I'd still prefer Pele who I bet would get paid half of Browns salary with much more potential upside.

I really fail to see how Nathan Brown improves our roster. He is a lock and a lock only. Too small and ineffective for the front row, and hasn't played any edge backrow since he was at souths, which was limited.

Sheens sees Hastings as a lock, then we have Joffa and Matamua, both much more effective then Brown.

Brown has people fooled because he acts tough and it gets mistaken for being an enforcer/leader. Block that out and just watch what he actually does and show me one run in the last 18 months he has made a genuine dent in the line and gained reasonable post contact metres. He makes zero impact.
The bloke runs hard with a purpose , something our forwards fail to do , if coach Sheens thinks he will be an asset then that’s good enough for me

Different case altogether. I have copied a few paragraphs from 5 July article:

A semi-professional rugby league player charged with breaking and entering with five others has asked for more lenient bail conditions.

Tevita Loko, 25, from Revesby, appeared in Bankstown Local Court on Thursday, along with co-accused Michael Iata, Logan Iata, Mavoni Tuifua and Ahmed Eltigani Mohamed.

Police alleged the six men operated as a joint criminal enterprise, aggravating the charges.

We need experience

I see your point but I'm not really a fan. I think we need consistent performers especially in the middle. Tamou is experienced and I honestly think he has been a decent signing but he doesn't move the needle as they state.

I'm okay with Brown though dependent on the terms. I get worried with these types of end of career signings. They typically don't work out well for us.

It's real pros and cons with Brown plus we need middle forwards. It's the contract that matters to me. I'd only go for it if Parra are chucking and it's only for 2 years.

If we take him it frees up cash for the slimes to retain papali’i
better off looking at Jordan McLean, who doesn’t stop running when he hits the line lol

TITANS CIRCLING TIGER

Tigers hooker Jacob Liddle has been shopped to the Gold Coast as the Titans ramp up plans for a new No. 9.

Titans coach Justin Holbrook appears to have finally abandoned playing manufactured hooker Erin Clark at dummy-half and is on the lookout for a new rake.

Liddle’s name has been tossed up to the Titans as uncertainty swirls around the future of the Tigers following the sacking of coach Michael Maguire.

Liddle, 25, is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2023, but that hasn’t stopped him being offered to the Titans along with teammate Jock Madden.

Liddle has played 74 games for the Tigers, including 10 this season, since debuting in 2016 but could be on move as the Titans look to beef up their dummy-half stocks.

Holbrook will blood ex-Storm hooker Aaron Booth against the Broncos on Saturday as he looks for more creativity at the ruck.
