Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ueah

Yeah he is, same Gareth Ellis did, Jamie Lyon, Tony Carroll… still had to put himself into position to score the tries, follow the play, still be instinctive, skill and speed. Nofo scores 4 against the Cook Islands and he’s a star.
Great to see him go well, still only 26, fullback, wing… We do lack serious speed or anything threatening.
Apologies being in Qld we don’t get to see a lot of the younger tigers, only what we read here from you guys. Is Liam scolari recovering from his acl injury? Is he the next wing prospect we have ?
There is a young dean mariner up here, unsigned by the broncos currently, this kid is good
Yeah fair call, didn’t realise he was only 26. I would of guessed at least a couple of years on that.
Probably just a little jaded from the last back we got from over there.
He’s quick but he’s small and gets man-handled when I’ve watched him, probably why he had to go to England. But to prove some backs can make it is Farnsworth, and I’d have him asap.

Honestly Demps do we really want that flea and grub of an uncle anywhere near our club
Doesn't matter what I want, brother.

Club does what it wants.

I have a feeling that Sheens & Benji will believe they can get the best out of Brooks, thus leaving us stuck with him for a long time.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Moses though, I doubt he would even consider us and despite him being a jerk - he's turned into a hell of a player. Look forward to seeing him play for the cedars this year, hopefully.

He also is speaking with Nathan Browns new management Crown about what he's after & a potential move in 2023.

Brandon Tumeth is also on the verge of debut & re-signing to be in the clubs top 30 in 2023.

Jacob Liddle close to an immediate switch to the Dragons"

Ex-Wigan Warriors star Jackson Hastings set for mammoth deal
Jackson Hastings is a name that is on everyone’s lips at present after taking the NRL by storm upon his return.
After almost four years in the UK Super League, the Australian halfback earned himself a deal back Down Under with the Wests Tigers and has impressed in a struggling side.
However, with Michael Maguire’s sacking – the coach who brought Hastings to the club ahead of the 2022 season – there have been question marks over where the halfback’s future lies with the Canterbury Bulldogs reportedly interested in bringing the 26-year-old to Belmore.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, it is not only the Bulldogs that are interested with the Newcastle Knights also have had discussions about luring Hastings to Newcastle for 2023.
Hastings is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2023, but his management are close with Newcastle’s recruitment manager Clint Zammit.
The former Wigan Warriors and Salford Red Devils man is currently on a deal worth $375,000 in 2022, but that increases to around $500,000 next season.
A cryptic Hastings post on his Instagram last week had left Tigers fans questioning whether the halfback would follow Maguire out of the club after being linked with a move away.
His post showed a photo of the halfback and the head coach with three shaking hand emojis in one last message to his former boss as it seems there is no shortage of suitors for the playmaker.
And, now Hastings’ new photos on Instagram have been met with begging from Wests fans to stay at the club.
Wests, too, are planning on putting a big contract under the nose of the former Wigan man, according to Fox Sports as well as fellow halfback Adam Doueihi and fullback Daine Laurie in a bid to warn off any suitors – from Australia and the UK.
It remains to be seen what kind of monetary offer it would be for Hastings given that it was a bit of a gamble for the Tigers to sign the halfback following a successful spell in Super League, but it will almost certainly be an improved offer.

I wouldn't loose any sleep

Now that our coaches are sorted, any actual signing news or possibilities this year? Seems like everything has gone quiet which may be a good sign...?

So why did he play his entire first season at fullback? I like the guy, but he’s in no position to be demanding where he plays (if that’s true), He isn’t even a rep player ffs.
When Douehi came from Souths he was bench player, that filled in at Fullback and Wing, however came to us in a fulltime role fullback. Basically he should be happy to play anywhere in first grade, and as he has come back from a major injury and its obvious his defence needs to improve, you would think the centre position would be ideal.

Can't wait for the crap we'll be copping off the Media when they turn Gildart into another Herbie Farnworth or Dominic Young on minimum wage.
That will not happen imo.the best he could get to would be your best centre in reggies and even that is unlikely

Not saying I want him back but at least Woods genuinely seems to regret his actions. I doubt Tedesco has ever had a second of regret or remorse.
I cant rightly comment on that as I havent read the article you refer to. However I do remember Woods given the honour of WT club captain only to turn his back on it . The opposite of that & the type of player we want here is the Robbie Farahs who valued the WT, who the club captaincy was torn away from.
