Isaiah Papali’i #265

I disagree because this is a fight we can't lose unless we choose to do so our contract should be 100% enforceable in any and all court's of law in Australia.
The club needs to be resolute and stand rock solid on this
I don’t understand why people would want to sue the guy for breach of contract? A drawn out court case which could possibly ruin a young mans career, that’s not courage it’s revenge. It will be like trying to draft Ali into the army.

The Tigers need to enforce the contract irrespective of the merits. They’ve buckled way too many times. Eels low balled him and he signed with the Tigers. They now create space and make an offer and he uses the esculent if a coaching change to back out.

The Tigers could have allocated that money to another player and have now been denied an opportunity to do so. Likely released garner also and chose to let Luciano go. They need to harden up.

i just read an article where Isiah said this which is concerning (Re the coach)

"That's great for the club," Papali'i said.

"Obviously everyone was wondering who the coach would be so knowing what their plan is going forward is good for the club. I'm happy for them."

Dig our heels in regardless of whether he wants to come or not. He signed the contract knowing full well what we are. We’ve rolled over for the likes of Matterson and Moses so we need to re-draw that line in the sand. While we’re at it, lodge a complaint with the NRL regarding the Eels conduct, the absolute scumbags.

Unfortunately, the likely scenario is Lee goes on radio to run his big obnoxious mouth, claiming that we will make him honour his contract. And then proceed to release him whilst Pascoe brags about getting a couple of hundred thousand out of the deal along with a fringe first grader. And embarrassing the club yet again.

I suppose I can understand where Isiah is coming from if he signed on to play with Madge.

Its like when i got a job but then my background checks took 1 year and when i started the job the whole team that hired me was gone. I felt terrible.

I did not say to sue Paps but sue the club and people who are trying to get him to get out of the contract, what they are doing is where i am suggesting we go for the throat. If he decides he does not want to play for us then he can sit out the contract without pay but i doubt he would do that under any circumstances.
At the moment he is getting very bad advice from vested interests at parra and that is what you fight

Without any bias i think the eels are on the down with losing Reed Mahony, they wont win a priemiership any time soon and he has a better future at the tigers with the cubs coming through. He can play a more senior role here. But who am I to say? I'm just a random dude typing on a keyboard in my grandmothers basement

I think you are a very biased Tigers supporter to claim, albeit indirectly that after this season we will be closer to a premiership than Parra.

Your lucky to have a grandmother even if she is probably figurative

You can't sell one thing to players than do a complete turnaround and not expect them to be questioning their decision - whether it is legit or not. He is in stellar form, we are in the headlines for all the wrong reasons and camped on the bottom of the table. His decision about what to do about it will be selfish and may not favour us - but is it that surprising when clubs and players break contracts all the time based on self interest. Hope he honors it but preparing for the worst because I can't see how his allegiance is not more directed toward staying with the Eels.

They showed a snippet on him walking into the sheds at fulltime and every man and his dog came up and shook his hand.

It looked staged tbh but I am sure it gave him a very warm and fuzzy feeling and he would question himself as to why would I leave such a great environment for the unknowns of the Tigers environment.

I’d say the $650,000 per year was the biggest factor but I get you. While I’m sure it played a factor in him signing, he can’t have been oblivious to the situation going on with Madge which was a running theme for a season and a half.

He has already made his decision. I'm surprised you mentioned this in your post. If anything, having Marshall involved will strengthen his resolve.
