Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence

Pretty simple math to me. Start winning and Ill be a believer. Keep being a joke club and promising future wins and Ill be death riding them until they are punted to Puntsvile. Wests tigers are not your portfolio that you invest in for future earnings. The only super's getting good returns at WT is journeyman the braindead malmanagement hire.
Yep. I support the jersey. Will continue to call out those who don’t have the desire or ability to represent it. On and off the field.

I didn't agree with sacking Madge but in business and in life you need to act with integrity. The only right action was to sack Madge if we were looking for a new coach. Lining up the coach prior to sacking Madge would have shown a lack of integrity.

They chose the next best option and they have provided a 5 year plan/time frame for their actions to work. I disagree that this was to win over the fans.

I love how you use the Paul Kent line as well. That is pathetic.
That's a very 'shifty' Sheens photo you've chosen Earl 👍

We've heard from so many coaches and trainers over the years that the weights you put on the bars weigh the same where ever they are or what ever the building looks like.

This of course has been an excuse that has been peddled over the years while we have had very poor facilities, suggesting that it makes very little difference.

Now that we have a Centre of Excellence that has been coming for way too long, do we really expect the players that we have to suddenly turn into super stars?

Do we expect players to start beating down the doors wanting to sign up for the Wests Tigers, it certainly wasn't enough to convince #1 pick coach Cameron Ciraldo to come here.

Really, apart from being a feel good story, is this new facility going to attract new players and is it going to make the ones we currently have better players?

Will they catch or pass a ball better, will they suddenly find that speed and fitness that we are always complaining that they lack, will they suddenly be smarter or quicker between the ears, will it reduce the number of injuries we have or have them return from injuries sooner?

My guess is that it isn't going to make a huge amount of difference on its own but If I can live long enough I guess that in another 10 years we may see whether it has made a discernible difference.

My thoughts only.
It's a very good point your making.
The fact that all the facilities are in one place such as weights, recovery, physio, video, conference room, administration and a training ground would make a difference especially with organizing the team.
The fact it is in a spacious clean environment and not the opposite would probably make for a positive vibe.
I also believe it will be an awesome venue for our pathways.

If the club is so poorly managed why are we in such a strong financial position the on field performances have been poor but steps have been taken to rectify the situation with Tim Benji and Robbie they know the club and don't have to learn what needs to be fixed they will hit the ground running with preseason in November then hopefully all you keyboard warrior's and coaches will have nothing to complain about
I’ve got some magic beans for sale

The problem with some on this Forum is you've come so use to death riding club you know no better. The whinging that has gone on over the years about the number of juniors that have been lost to other clubs now something has been done to address the problem people are still whinging it doesn't matter who set it up the most important thing is who it is managed by into the future and with Tim in charge there is probably not a better person at identifying and nurturing young talent . I'm sure WT'S could signed JC to play in the backline people would still complain.STOP THE WHINGING GET ON BOARD AND ENJOY THE RIDE the next chapter in WT'S history looks very promising.
While that sounds good, and I do agree in parts, it's not entirely our fault for feeling this way.
We have been subjected to absolute failure in management for years upon years.
Even go back the last 5 yrs and have a look at the screw ups. It's great to be an optimist but they're expecting us to hand over our time and money for more failure from the top down.
I reserve the right to call players pea hearts and shit for brains until they earn my belief and trust again.
Until then #puntbrooks

Show me the data you are basing that on please. I bet you can't. If you look at Pascoe's last FY report posted on the WT website you will see some vague graphs with no $$$ added and no real understanding of the metrics used. But yea, super strong cause the tiger orange part is big and the naughty black part is little.

As for the steps taken, the first step was to fire Madge and derail the season without a coach locked in. The coach they actually wanted said no and they went back to the well and hired a coach that they sacked and who sued them and a rookie club hero to win over the fans.
How inspiring.

What a masterstroke.

What's it like living in Narnia?
Like most on the Forum I don't have access to the financials of the club BUT its a well known fact that the club is DEBT FREE they are within the salary cap and still have room to move the COE just didn't happen there would have been a lot of negotiations that took place to get what the club has got now.In regard to the coaching situation again we don't know what took place with the sacking of Madge but every man and his dog were calling for him to be sacked .Do we know if Ciraldo gave the impression he wanted the job than got cold feet and pulled out we will never know.Tim in an interview on SEN said they wanted CIRALDO hence the very good 5 year offer again everyone was advising CIRALDO not to take the position.Tim also said the others available were not suitable to what the club was trying to achieve. If you believe what was in the media the suggestion for Tim to coach was made by Buzz Rothfield at a luncheon organised by WT'S the suggestion grew legs and we are where we are today.

Won't stay that way if they keep losing. Wooden spoons do a great job of stopping merchandise sales, scaring sponsors off & stopping your fans from turning up.

The answer is yes it will make a difference, but it won't magically fix everything.

Giving players a place where they can instantly receive high quality treatment using the best available technology and staff is a huge improvement. Giving our boys and girls a home - a place to train, a place to relax that doesn't look like it's someone's spare room with a bit of equipment thrown in creates a much stronger sense of belonging than we can achieve with demountables. It means players and staff have a greater sense of pride turning up to work all of which is a good thing and attractive to potential recruits and off contract players.

But will that directly win us games? Of course not. It may help us recruit and retain talented players, which provides us with more talented players which gives us the platform to win more matches.
