That only works when they're off contract - None of them are....
A casual chat with an old team mate over a game of golf with an informal offer in there somewhere...

That happens all the time.
Off contract? I think we are the only ones doing that. I hate golf but poker, money often changes hands. I reckon Lee, Shifty and Benji, should have a few home games with Suali, Manu, Munster would love poker, especially at my place, Carrigan, The Hammer.
Talking to players on contract; it happens all the time. Newy and Brooks?

Be very interesting to see what direction we go with our halves, seems Brooks could finally be pushed Jacko seems like he's checked out since Madge left Doueihi is looking like the only real lock in.
Wouldnt be surprised if we make an all Lebbo scumbase play with Moses, dunno if it will be a successful attempt what do you reckon @Demps

I highly doubt it, lol

Interested to see how it plays out...

You didn’t see the Origin series this year?
Yes I did!!
Outstanding performance by our Captain over the three games.
He has been playing at this level and intensity for a few seasons now.
I don’t believe that he can maintain this level of performance going forward.
He is 30 in January.
He will be 32 when available for us, barring him breaking his contract.
He will want three years.
Just my opinion, looking what’s best Cap wise.
Haven’t we paid overs enough in the past??

There is a push from some at Wests Tigers for former captain Aaron Woods to join the reunion at the club next season.

Woods almost signed with the Tigers this year but that was vetoed by former coach Michael Maguire. However, that may now all change given Tim Sheens is back in charge and Benji Marshall is calling the shots.

Woods remains tight with the duo. He faces an interesting situation at his current club St George Illawarra.

Woods needs to play 18 games to automatically guarantee his contract at the Dragons next year. He signed with the club on a 12-month deal with an option for next year.

Woods sits at 13 games already – meaning he needs to play five of the next seven to be at the club next year.

Barring a late scratching, he won’t play Friday night after the ex-Kangaroos prop was named 18th man to play Manly. He missed out on selection against the Broncos two weeks ago but returned to play the Roosters last week.

Meanwhile, the Dragons are still on the hunt for a hooker. The club has had discussions with Jacob Liddle and Sam Verrills as they look to add a No.9 to their squad for next season. (DT)

I’m not saying we should sign him - he wouldn’t come anyway - but I’d hardly call him “cooked”.

I have no issue with Woodsy coming back. Low cost, passion, he is a known great trainer and brings leadership and experience. He would be a 6th prop in a rotation and wouldnt block a long term place for juniors plus would pass on his epxerience to young blokes.

That's not true, Doueihi was half all through the juniors, he was too good for reserve grade, but souths were not going to drop Reynolds or Walker, so Doueihi was slotted in wherever. We signed him and said he could be our fullback for the first year and when Benji retires he will be our five eight, that is what happened

I also don't think this is true...
We had Reynolds signed as well when we signed Doueihi...
Reynolds, Benji, Walters - We weren't signing another 5/8.
Mbye was moved from Fullback (Where he'd trained all pre-season) to accommodate him, Where he was already playing well for Souths and paid him a pot load to come over....

We didn't pay him 600+ to come to the club and be our 4th 5/8

Yes let him come back , BUT only if he brings teddy and Moses with him . It’s only fair considering he was behind them leaving .🥴👍
