Asu Kepaoa #236

I think too many are ready to discard Kepaoa based on 2 costly mistakes in his last 2 games. He’s played only 17 games. Tesi Niu can stand up more experienced centres. BTW, where was the cover?

The first try was on Naden, he
dropped back too far awaiting the
kick, Kepoa did the right thing to
come out of the line and pressure
the man with the ball while the
cover came through the inside.

Going to be a very good player.
Coming back from back-2-back
serious injuries at a young age,
He's showing great resilience.

Roosters knew what they were
doing when they signed him.
He's a quality guy as well AJ,
look forward his development

I haven't seen much of Tupou. But I like the look of Toa more than Kepoa, personally.
Hope they all keep developing over the next few weeks and the off season. We need the depth and we need at least a couple of them to develop in to class centres/wingers

See slight improvement with hands and footy smarts but his missed tackles were directly involved with 2 of broncos 3 tries .

AJ has played under 50 games and there are still mistakes and misreads in him and the young players coming through

API and PAPI will make them better in 2023.

Toa just hasn't got the size of Kepoa. More active and upside at the moment but would prefer him on the wing.

Think Nofo is on the outer to be honest.
Lee shouldn't of offered him 4 years 🙄

Lee just signs off really, otherwise he’d coach.

Go back to the Eels' game and watch the pass his slipped for the try on the left for Tupou. Quick hands and the ability to be able to set up the winger is often overlooked in centres. Kepaoa has a great left to right pass as well.

Kepaoa has an error in him and isn't a great defender, but he can offload, break a tackle and get his outside man away.

IMO he's a step up on anyone we've had playing in the centres over the last couple of seasons. They have been generally woeful in both attack and defence.

Always been a fan, and I've said it multiple times - just like Talau, Kepaoa will come good.

Not there yet, but definitely improving with more regular game time in his actual position.

Really bothered me that he put his head down and stood still expecting Broncos to score after his miss on Tesi Niu though.

Agree, but I think this team is still a few wins away from getting rid of the losing mentality. Takes time..i I like the way that he's taking the line on in attack and doesn't look afraid to make mistakes

I'm surprised that Kepaoa has surprised people. He played a few games at centre last year and I thought he was our best centre for the last few years bar Douehi.

He got a bad wrap because he was error prone on the wing. Not all centres can play wing. His strength is agility, strength and offload. He isn't the most co-ordinated person that you need to be on the wing.
