Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Tristan Reilly is our reinforcements.

The squad for the rest of the year is designed to make Sheens look awesome next year when we have a full squad.
I have wondered about this approach as well. I wouldn’t put it past “Shifty”.

Like when a new CEO comes on board, they write down all of the assets in the first year to show “growth” in subsequent years.

Ok heres 3 off the top , titans , dogs , knights . Warriors … eh maybe , it depends on Shaun Johnston . The Dolphins asked the question as well .
Potentially the dragons depending on how desperate they get .
So there’s your answer . And I’m not wrong . That’s just the going rate for a halfback like him. As non elite as he is . Elite ie. Cleary , Moses , DCE , =1mil plus .
Like I said you guys can sit , and say whatever you want , there’s a market for him . And there always will be for guys like him.
Knights offered him $600k this pre season and his stocks have dropped further due to his disastrous form this campaign. He ain't getting $750k

Well, it's 1 August.

And looking at what's our lot, as of today:

Brooks (Out for season)
Blore (Out for season)
Hastings (Out for season)
Twal (Out for season)
Utoikamanu (Out for season)
Ngati (Out for season)
Talau (Out - knee)
Nofoaluma (loan - season)
Gildart (loan - season)
Kei (no longer w/WT)
Luciano (released)
Michalae (released)
Hoffman (released)

So where's our cavalry reinforcements?

And it's now past 5pm.

I reckon the peril the knights are in they’d go to 700k . I guess my point is with the brooks thing is some on here act like he’s a 300k type player or something . Like I’ve said 100 times . I’m not saying we should keep him, i think he needs to go , but both things can be true at once . He’s not the answer for us , but he’s not a bad footballer . Gone are the days where people are debating how we can unleash him .

I'd be trying to bait the Knights into effectively paying 800k for him for next season by trying to get a swap for Klemmer. We'd have to take Klem on his full whack plus wear the 300k difference between his and Brooks'salary but IMO it'd be worth it

Didn’t he bail out of Sydney because of some family issues with his mum or something ? Might be a tough sell , I think he’s pretty settled on the north coast .
Anyways thanks for the chat

Thought it was the other way round. I thought he was keen to come back to Sydney coz his mum or someone wasn't travelling well with Health but obviously he's on a big salary there so not an easy swap

This was before Brooks' injury.

MADDEN’S IRE OF THE TIGERS

The new Wests Tigers regime of Tim Sheens and Benji Marshall are in danger of losing rising playmaker Jock Madden.

Sport Confidential can reveal Madden will quit the club if the Tigers persist with maligned Luke Brooks as their first-choice halfback alongside Adam Doueihi and Jackson Hastings at the scrumbase.

Off-contract at season’s end, Madden’s preference is to stay at the Tigers and the former Australian Schoolboys star ideally wants to be the main man in the No.7 jumper.

But if Sheens opts for the inconsistent Brooks as his chief shot-caller in 2023, then Madden will head for the Concord exits.

The 22-year-old has played 11 top-grade games since his debut last year and believes he is ready to step up as a starting halfback on a regular basis in the NRL. (Courier Mail)
Maybe it was the cause of Brooks' injury ( Twilight Zone theme ).
