It’s easy enough to ignore the whinging. On a positive note, there are plenty of valuable contributors here who just like to talk footy (ie. play the ball not the man) & I appreciate that.

The WT aren't going nowhere. Very strong brand and this history and internal rivalry is actually creating a strong passion which probably won't be thete if it were just the newer fans. Not really the point I was getting at but I do acknowledge yours 👍
At the end of the day, as long as our "product" doesn't die then in 20 years we'll still be here having Weststigers banter. 👍
We are the Weststigers, one club, one emblem one direction.Opinion
While the WT are here to stay, rolling into the future I can safely say the TIGER is here for good.
As for WESTS this could always change, as for a possible move elsewhere might require a name change.
The point here being made is, our history will always remain. That’s why the WESTERN SUBURBS MAGPIE alongside BALMAIN TIGER emblems respectfully appear on our jersey, so people will never forget, and the young have a history and understanding to cherish.
Classy comment.Yeah the shit part we are embarrassed about….
I applaud you both for not turning that discussion into an abusive argument, coz that’s where I thought that was going, turned out to be an interesting read.
We are one, Wests Tigers!
What a great photo @innsaneink of a real good bunch of mates.View attachment 2188
Around my time there 😂
Very Well said @Bus 2 Terrigal ...........my thoughts exactly. We are “one club with one team” but most of us are OK with being able to discus issues pertaining to our heritage without seeing it as some sort of threat to unity.
You been to any games lately Cobar ? There are old Balmain jerseys everywhere. I'm sure after 20 + years of the Weststigers been around , those supporters would be able to afford a Weststigers jersey. Nope. Just keep digging the old Balmain one out of moth balls. You can't have it both ways. Thoughts ?We are the Weststigers, one club, one emblem one direction.
At least I named you when I called you out.Very Well said @Bus 2 Terrigal ...........my thoughts exactly.
I've said it before and I'll bore everyone that reads these words by saying it again.
When I first came on here I expressed views with a slight Wests Magpies flavour and was put down by not 1 but 2 ex Forum Leaders who accused me of trying to stir up trouble.
It's only now since You've popped Your head up on Our Forum and You have the ability to be able to debate strongly without getting personal or abusive, that I feel 'Wests Tigers supporters' from the Western Suburbs Magpie's side of Our Joint Venture can freely express Our views re the Magpies without the fear of being put down, and I personally thank you for that.
There's a number of posters on here that I respect very much, but to just name a few.... @mike.... @Cobarcats.... @Strongee.....You've now joined that motley crew 👍
Chalk also told me back at the Leagues club that night that Parramatta only wanted the Tigers logo - they refused to take any existing Tigers staff including players. Parra had a baseball cap made up with the Parramatta Tigers logo displayed on the boardroom table. Chalk and The Tigers team walked out immediately.not true mate plain and simple
the vote from the balmain end was never for a move to south west absolute rubbish. I remember John chalk detailing to all the members, the balmain members also had the parramatta proposal from Dennis Fitzgerald to review at the same time
They were entertaining Sydney Tigers if I remember well.Chalk also told me back at the Leagues club that night that Parramatta only wanted the Tigers logo - they refused to take any existing Tigers staff including players. yes Chalk said Dennis Fitzgerald would run the show play out of Parramatta, Brian Smith to Coach and Parramatta colours with a Tiger emblem and no current balmain players at all in the squad.Chalk also told me back at the Leagues club that night that Parramatta only wanted the Tigers logo - they refused to take any existing Tigers staff including players. Sydney Tigers were balmain in mid 1990' when they played out of Parramatta stadium. Changed the name to Sydney Tigers then after 2 or 3 seasons went back to Leichardt as balmainThey were entertaining Sydney Tigers if I remember well.
Deal done Yagoona Chinese restaurant.yes Chalk said Dennis Fitzgerald would run the show play out of Parramatta, Brian Smith to Coach and Parramatta colours with a Tiger emblem and no current balmain players at all in the squad.
That got voted down pretty much unanimously.
I remember on the night at Balmain Leagues the PA came through that western suburbs had agreed to the merger and we were still standing up talking and members for a Q&A with John Quayle and others having there say in the auditorium, then Laurie Nichols stood up and said don't kill my tigers.
In the end I know Chalk was relieved the merger went ahead with Western Suburbs, if it hasn't Magpies were dead and balmain would have followed after that I dare say
$8 million reasons to celebrate.A succulent Chinese meal?
@Pascoes_barber
And didn’t they spend it well 🤣🤣🤣$8 million reasons to celebrate.
Arn"t you from Nth Qld? Like your opinion matters. Go support the CowboysYeah the shit part we are embarrassed about….
The purple trim was the kicker. We had season tickets in the Parra stadium Grandstand facing west (Kenny Stand?) Reasonable crowds at the start of the season which dwindled as losses accumulated. The next year rolled up and we were in the bar and the barman recognised us from last season and told the staff that we would be his only customers by season's end and sadly they would probably not have jobs thanks to the entertaining Sydney Tigers 🍻They were entertaining Sydney Tigers if I remember well.
