David Nofoaluma #164

He’s a starting winger for almost every team in the comp. But his attitude has been poor the last couple of years. Hopefully he comes back better next year, our squad isn’t strong enough to be letting go of talented players. His contract won’t look so bad once the salary cap increases soon.

This from someone who is not one of his biggest fans!
Poor attitude should not get you a start in any team!!

I know champ as I stated (yet), but watching the games he has much better defenders inside him. Hence no try’s, which will most likely get better once he gets used to trusting his inside players, which could never happen here. My point is people like u look at the black side of things, rather than looking at the bigger picture. I am not saying he is the best defender in the world, he’s just not as bad as you lot put out there!
Addo carr was the same but got better as a defender, when he knew he could trust the players inside him.
The NSW coach publically came out and stated that Nofa wouldn't be considered for Origin until he fixed his defence/mistakes, so that tells you something about his defensive capabilities. It is common knowledge amongst all fans from all teams that he is pretty laughable in defence🤷🏽‍♂️.
I for one don't really care whether he fails or succeeds at Storm, I just hope he stays there permanently TBH.

Nofoaluma Tight-Lipped On Tigers Return
'That's Where My Head Is At'

Doesn't fill you with great confidence that he wants to come back.
Rather him gone. Won't improve anymore and he's not a rep winger.

One of the most tragic ends to a career ever.
What a unit !
Still involved with the club, thanks for the memories big fella.
He was going on to great heights the big fella☹️.
Such a rollercoaster night when he got injured, scintillating footy mixed with the massive disappointment of his injury.
It was caused by what now would be classed as a hip-drop tackle too from memory😡

Ben Smith I think it was. Tuiaki was the first person I thought of with these hip drop tackles. All the commentators saying "it'll end a career one day". It already has, but it's ok it was just a Tigers player.

No he’s not a top ten winger by any stretch. Not since 2020. Here’s a list of 10 wingers who are all better than Nofo (in no order)

Johnston
Garrick
Addo Carr
D. Tupou
Sivo
To'o
C. Oates
X. Oates
T May
Kenny M

That’s off the top of my head. I can make a case for 2-4 other wingers who are better than him. Who are you taking Nofo over in that list?

It’s fine to have an ego and you’re right, all great players have one. The problem is when the ego outweighs the skill set and performance which is definitely the case with Nofo
This is your list right?

Na we were coming 10th or 11th. This is 2009, we finished 10th or something that year. Way off a GF.

We never got to see Tuiaki and Tuqiri as a wing pairing.
Yeah it was the previous year, would have loved to have seen Tuiaki and Tuqiri.

I still maintain that if the injury to TnT didn't happen in 2009, we would have won 2010 and 2011.

For those who remember we used to have our own Addo Carr.
He never featured on line breaks or tackle counts or bomb diffusions.
But he had speed to burn and that’s all we wanted. And he scored lots of tries, and eventually became a Kangaroo
His name ….. Larry Corowa.
Sometimes speed is all you need !
I remember the crowd all rising to their feet whenever Larry got the ball he was so exciting so fast

If we beat Parra that night we would've gained massive momentum and confidence because Parra were pretty much invincible at that point. Was a very close comp too from memory as far as the top 8 went.

I'd love us to have a bog average winger like him. Scored 15 tries or something like that this year and he went tryless in his first six games.
You can have the best, fastest winger in the game but if you don't have the players to get him the ball/put him in space it's not going to do you much good.

Case in point, the tigers used to have this lightning fast winger who didn't really do much. Then he went and played for the storm and suddenly scored a ton of tries.

Can't remember his name.... Think he might be at the bulldogs now. 🤔

Oh, sorry, on topic, disappointing comments from Nofo.

Poor form to be on loan to another club and say you've fallen in love with the game again.

I don't know him personally, but it seems like his attitude is his worst enemy. A coach like Bellamy would be great for him.

Storm can keep him, but I can't imagine they'd pay anywhere near what the tigers do for a winger.

Would love a swap for X Coates!
