Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So apparently Dogs had a meeting with Hunt today and it got me thinking..
If they were talking to him maybe Hastings is not in there plans to try and sign..
Not sure how they could afford him anyway but thats a different story
They seem to be throwing darts at all high profile off contract players. Will be very interesting what they end up with!

Still a few years from top grade. I think he would be a great fullback. But better judges then me say he’s a out and out 5/8. Do you know if tigers are looking at him?
I believe he played fullback for QLD's under 19's team, but I think he'll be an excellent 5/8

Unsure if we're looking at him, however Luai and Cleary seem to be the combination for another decade so definitely gettable

I've no desire to defend my occupation to strangers over the internet 😂😂. It's great that you've still got the time and energy after your busy days come home and insult people over the computer though. A very satisfying and stimulating life you must lead!
Would you mind answering the first question? If it’s not too much trouble and won’t harm your baby bum hands of course…

Joe O has been one of our best forwards, but I would not see him as an elite prop.

I would not be paying ridiculous money for him. Brisbane did and then were desperate to offload when there were other options available.

Would be happy to pay up next year and look to trade up, but I can't see him taking a 1 year deal

We aren't going to attract an elite prop.

If we are serious we should retain him, sounds like he isn't asking a huge amount anyway and it's close to market value based on what the POM said. If we structure his deal we can write chunks off this and next year where we have cap space for when it matters most 2024 & beyond.

We shouldn't underestimate that his form in a team getting thumped with zero support has been basically the only positive this year. He has been consistent high performer as well which we couldn't say about anyone else in the side.

If we want young kids to learn off some quality experienced heads, we could do a heck of a load worse than Joe.

Not mention the clear energy and positive vibe he brings. Really poor if we let him go. He should be in the mix for vice captain next year.

Fully agree. We must keep the good players and let the poor go.
Don't know what more someone would need to do for an extension to be warranted, maybe something else is happening we don't know about.

don't be surprised if he winds up at the dogs with Ciraldo.

It's actually laughable how unaccountable this Clubs leaders are. We deserve everything the Media give us.
It kills me this year.....how management have given away our best players and expects the members to keep paying full freight on tickets/memberships etc where they are actively not putting out their best team, but seem to go out of their way to make other teams better....
That and the fact they don't stop the clock while the bunker tries to make a decision whether to have a look at a try or not.

Yes really difficult to recruit fair or unfair this "toxic" image is weighing us down .Tim Benji Robbie and co need to address this pointing out that action taken has made us now a happy harmonious club

Agree with the caveat can see the club is investing heavily in the crop of juniors. Next year looks like another year saving for them.
