Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

if Munster goes to dolphins and douhie to stor then we have 650k to spend on our cap for 2024
As far as Brooks go you get the long service 150k allowance so as long as Sheens can negotiate 2024 and beyond down to say 650k that becomes 500k straight away. That is a good deal for brooks if we can keep Hastings.
Then with Brooks reduced salary and Douhie's you have (650k plus 650k) 1.3 million to go after Dylan brown or Moses or even tedesco
Have you ever thought the Storm might want to replace Munster with a good player ? I.e Dylan Brown and not Doueihi. If
Munster does leave. It's no certainty they will want Doueihi. Storm enquired about him as a loan player to fill in for injuries. Maybe not as a full-time 5/8.

SOMETHING IS WORRYING ME ABOUT THE NEXT FEW YEARS.

The Rorters are the big worry, they know how to work the CAP & they are in a position of being able to win quite a few Grand Finals, with the talent they have control over.

And with team number 17 entering the Competition next year, the depth of talent for other Clubs is diminishing, especially for the likes of us.

And you can see in the next 2 or 3 years the NRL will be bringing team 18 into the competition.

Making it then the top 8,
And the bottom 10.
This will also increase the NRL'S Television right's value by a considerable amount.

And this also will again deplete talent among the weeker clubs,
and enforcing the strangleholds,
sides like East will keep.

Prime example of the Power East have, is the amount of big money players they may lose for next year due to the CAP, NONE MENTIONED YET.

WHERAS PENRITH
Has been busy offloading big money players so they remain CAP compliant for 2023.

And last but not least is the increase in the Cap,
I would have thought we would know how much it is going to be by now,
so teams not making the 8 could workout what to do & how much they will have to do it with.
But, no mention yet, meaning the lower teams are again held back.
And top 8 teams are not worried cause they are in the 8.

We tried and offered overs. What more can you do?
We left it too late. Should've identified the talent early and extended accordingly. Most of us knew he was a gun a long time before he was coming off contract and able to sign with other clubs

The salary cap will be precisely what Uncle Nick wants it to be

Imagine we went after Tedesco, Manu, Keary, Tupou, Crighton, JWH, Radley, Sualii, Walker.. how would we fit them under the cap????
Same way the Rorters are doing it:

Tedesco = $450; Manu = $250; Keary = $400; Tupou = $200; Crighton = $450; JWH = a bucket of dog biscuits a week; Radley = $300; Sualii = $200; Walker = $250

So in total they only spend $2,500, 000 and a bucket of dog biscuits a week per season for all those players .. easy .. !! ;-)

Sounds like Benji is texting everyone. Time will tell if the "spray and pray" approach works. There is a fairly good chance it will backfire.
We've been throwing our hat in the ring for most big names for years now...

JAC, Latrell, we tried for up and comers Cobbo and Walsh....

We'll hook a few sooner or later.

We're about to see the birth of Dad Mode Brooks.

About to join the historical greats such as Beau Ryan (Headgear version) & Busty Tuki.

We're about to see some improvement, only took 10 years & fatherhood.

Congrats, you're the man now.

A couple of realistic signings for next year to compliment the players we are bringing in, along with our injured players, would be Garrick and Klemmer. A big, skilful, goal kicking fullback and an experienced, aggressive middle forward are just what the doctor ordered.
