I remember Teddy Atlas talking about these things and paraphrasing him smarts and hard work are just a different type of talent.
I get your point of view but I think this is where the club goes wrong. I'd use metrics to manage them.
I want a team of talented individuals who play smart tough footy. I don't see why younger people who are in their 20's can't play smart tough footy.
There will be a balance anyway. Brooks, Joe O, Nofo, Ken M, Doueihi, Musgrove, Naden, Api and IP aren't exactly juniors.
Sure if we could recruit a top class team I say go for it but we've failed at at that.
I think the club gets this as well hence the term development club. I think that term is an admittance we can't recruit as well as other clubs.

I basically agree with you but with development players you don't have a choice plus no club in the comp has a squad of 30 quality players.
A better way to look at the situation in my opinion is to balance the squad via trying to get say 2-5 quality players, a bunch of decent players and than fill the rest of the squad with plodders.
The Rorters have the Turd, Manu, Suaalii, Radley, Crichton, Tupou, Keary and Walker. If they were all fit I think they'd have given the comp a shake.

I would agree with that strategy.
Yes ok 24 nrl quality +6 development but not ones we already know are out of their depth in 1st grade
It could be summed up in one sentence not one page "Tim did not make any signings"
Teddy, Moses, Brooks, Woods, Simona, Sironen, N Brown, Koroibete, Lodge, Nofoaluma, Sue....
Fair old team full of the best young talent in the NRL

- We can also throw in the likes of Junior superstars that were part of the same squad
