Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I see where you’re comming from we all say get rid of them but then what? It’s not like Quilty players are lining up to come here
That's it. Look at what happened with the coaching fiasco. Ended up with no coach and then I'm sure it was...... Quick let's make up something and sell that.
You can't do that with players. You have to upgrade and not go backwards.
Imagine if we had an awesome pack...we could possibly get away with the backs we have with an additional signing of a speedster like the Hammer.

Tommy Talau is getting a top 30 spot & will be used next year in a Luke Garner style role of centre/2nd row.

Nu Brown is not certainty of staying has fair offer on the table but his manager pushing for more.

The Charlie Staines/Tyrone Peachey swap is going ahead & to be announced after Panther's season is finished.

Liddle's release opens up a spot in the top 30 for Nu Brown, if he takes it the squad is full time others are released. Musgrove is free to explore options but seems keen to stay.

Tuki Simpkins also no longer on the market with Sheens keen to work with him.

Henry O'Kane no certainty to stay, has a deal on the table but appears to be leaning elsewhere.

Daine Laurie will be training at 5/8 over the off season as halves cover with Staines coming on board.

Luke Brooks appears the only likely player on re-signing prior to November 1 at this point in time.

Albert Kelly is looking at a train & trial deal for the off-season but will not be offered a top 30 spot unless a few others a moved on. Will be a magpies contract at best

If that's the gool oil, I feel really ill.
What about Jacko?

It honestly baffles me as to why he hasn’t been number 1 priority to resign it should have been done months ago
Are you really surprised bud. Why are you baffled? It's how WT do things.
If we get the spoon next year they'll sell something else to us that we'll have no choice but to believe or leave.
We'll believe and hope that this nightmare will eventually end.

Peachy swap for Staines is fine by me, not that i think Staines will be that great for us, but got to provide more than Peachy has.
Tuki seems like a waste of a spot. Nu Brown is ok depth but seems like he wants more than the club is willing to offer.
Not fussed on Musgrove take him or leave him- we need better props than him ( just watched Tapine, RCG, Paulo, and Paps go around tonight).
Seems Laurie is re-signing??

Peach for Staines we win in this especially as fullback depth.
Laurie into 5/8th for "depth" is good, that is his natural position. Indicates a half is out the door.
Not surprised on TT as he does have some ball skills & we don't have much options for next year
Brown is meh for me, did well this year but would only get game time if players are injured
Musgrove - please go!!! His cash rate and ineffectiveness for a player his age + we have him for a few more years is a wasted roster spot.
Tuki just don't get

That all makes for pretty depressing reading.

Talau on a top 30 is ridiculous. Make him earn it via a train and trial.
No need for Nu
Peachey for Staines is ok depending on the $
Luke Brooks re-signing is ridiculously absurd.
Albert Kelly? WTF? Just no.

We desperately need a swathe of fresh blood from outside the club

We have millions to spend, where is all the money going?

Thanks for posting mate...
Really disappointed about Hastings not been extended yet and by the sounds of it he will test the market and there will be a few suiters and some willing to pay him...

Good questions - Where is all this money we have been spent???
IF you asked that 3 years ago it would not be a question as we all know who we overpaid for but TBH the club has not overpaid for the last few years (except Brooks / Nofo) so should have ample funds available.

I just feel sad after watching one of our past players in Mitch Moses lead the Eels to a huge win over the Raiders.
It's funny though majority here say Brooks is better haha. I joked to me eels mate saying let's swap brooks for Moses. If only. Ah well. Why are we resigning Brooks, seems like our perfect chance to finally lose him off the books. Oh well, like others say, they know more than me, so fingers crossed.

Moses is certainly a class act now, and can kick goals.
Another from the Tigers training academy !

Madden departing is the best indication Brooks is staying.

Laurie and Brooks are our best backs. Surround them with better players which I'm sure Sheens, Farah and Marshall are attempt to do.
It pains me to say this but at the moment wirh what we have our best spine is as below. With madden going brooks ain’t going anywhere.

1. Laurie
6. Douehi
7. Brooks (can’t believe I’m writing this)
9. Api
13. Hastings
