Wests Tigers Coaches

I swear some people honestly believe that a coach controls from the box every attacking play during the game. Great attack stems from players who can react instinctively during the game. Every team takes 5 hit ups and bombs throughout a game. The difference between good attacking teams is the players on the field who have the courage confidence skills and know how to execute when the opportunity arises.

Say what you like about Madge "Style"
Only 6 Coaches that have won a premiership in the last 10 years - And he's one of them....
Something must have worked?

Sadly, not with us! We went from an acceptable defence team (under Cleary, smaller budget) to a disastrous defence team (under Maguire, bigger budget))!

Dessie’s about to walk out of Manly for the gross disrespect and lack of gratitude.

They rival us for entertainment.

Hope springs eternal.

Take note Lee, the precious Wests Tigers DNA courses through his thick and powerful veins.

He won’t need any development or grace period to stamp his absolute authority on our ugly lot.

He can bring his recruitment people and a couple of pristine marquee will do everything they can to follow him.

Tim back to the office and GTA to attend sponsors nights and have a harmless “ good bloke” role.

So fas as we know, GTAs recruitment efforts haven’t resulted in any signings so far. It is a bit of a worry.

Yes. Inheriting a great roster built by someone else can create a legacy.

He has created his own here
It leads to a choice between..
a. There are only a handful of good coaches.

b. There are no good coaches.

c. Only good coaches are those who attract good players.

I’m leaning toward b, there are no really good coaches. I did think Tim was a great coach at one point, how he got an average team of players to play to their strengths and win a GF. He needs to prove it again.
I would love to know who taught Souths their backline shape? Now that’s a good coach.

Bellamy- had Ingliss Slater Cronk and Smith - and bag of brown paper bags. That's what it takes.

He did - And we beat them in 05...
Broncos in 06
Manly in 08
You make it sound like they won every year...
Good players help, It's not all on them though....

Bellamy took those players as young blokes and showed them what it took...
Then they showed the others.
Some credit where it's due....

If coaches didn't do anything, They wouldn't exist.

The point is all premiership winning coaches whether they are successful once or numerous times can only do it on the back of the talent in the squad. It goes hand in hand.

last time Tim coached here it took him 3 years to instill a good defence-plenty of time for Bungie to get them humming-whilst Gramps takes the flack in the media
