Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hate Winners too?
He's a top 5 Half in the comp - And probably better than what we have.

Funny how he's "unpopular at the club" - Is that because he's been tearing us a new arsehole since he left (Bar twice... Maybe)
Is there even anyone left at the club that would know him?
Pascoe, Brooks, Nofoaluma.... Vince?
That's about it I'd reckon.

No doubt Moses is playing better than our halves but he is playing behind a far stronger set of pigs and we have all seen how he dogs it when he plays behind ours.At the money he would want i wouldn't touch him even if he didn't tank.
We need forwards

Reported that Moses has a clause in his contract to bump it up from $900k to $1m if the team wins a GF, hence the delay. Benji is zero chance unless he gives him a go forward pack. Moses is knocking on the door of an origin spot not looking at sitting on the shelf with Addo-Carr.

Done with Musgrove. Has like 3 good games a year. Rest of the time he's either injured, suspended or being the worst prop on the field.

Tedesco and Moses would work a treat...
Still best mates, Still would love to play together...

Would have both been at the Dogs if Des wanted Moses.

I know someone very high up at the Storm and 100% they use business connections to get alot of additional $$ to players outside the cap. He knows how to manage $$$ around books better than anyone.

Hi do you know much about the land around East leagues club Uncle Nick has been buying it up for years and leaving it in a trust the whole block so long after he is gone East will have income and assets could you use a trust to pay TPAs ?
Don't know Nick or anything about that.
But if it's given to the Roosters as an asset my understanding it would count against the cap if given to a player.

Our good mate Geo posted this back in 2015 about TPAs - don't know if it is still the same.

"Clubs can offer TPA's from Club affiliated sponsors up to an amount (currently 600k I beleive) on top of the salary cap...this can also be cars boats etc and can be spread to anyone in the playing group..."
Thanks, Geo knew the rules.
That’s why he is still missed on here.

We have two props that have an impact - Stef and Musgrove. I hope we don't let him go.

Moses is a really good player but I don't want him here especially on marquee dollars.
Unfortunately the impact from Musgrove is usually negative. Would be happy to see him go and be replaced by a more senior prop who doesn’t get lazy in defence.

Sell one of our only experienced Props so we can afford a halfback...
(When we have 3 Halves contracted for next year)

Your Logic is perplexing to say the least!!
- Non existent almost.

If we are moving Musgrove on it's the long game not short game focus.

Musgrove is signed for another 3yrs on alot more coin than we are getting in return.
None of our halfbacks are signed past next year.
Zero chance Eels release Moses a season early with everyone else they are losing.
Doubt we will release all 3 of our halves unless someone comes in early, and would be surprised if we keep all 3 past 23 as well.

It's very clear we want a different half setup under Benji.
It's also very clear we are freeing up a heap of cash to spend for Benji's roster.
We aren't setting up for next year, we are setting up for Benji taking over.
Musgrove I doubt would be in Benji's plans, he just isn't a reliable prop.

Re Musgrove experience
He is 27 when season starts, played a whopping 62 games in his career.
Last year 24 of those (38.7%) of his career games were played.
In his 24 games this year he made 100mtrs+ 6 times (25% )
In his 17 starts he made 100mtrs+ 4 times (23.5%).
When we needed him to step up he just didn't do it.

He's no gun, But he's also playing in a super ordinary team....
He offers something a bit different to the likes of Stefano, Twal and Pole...
Improve the team 10-20% you probably find you improve Musgrove enough to want him around.

Props never used to come on until 27-28 they used to say - There's the exception to the rule obviously....
He's no starter, But I wouldn't be letting him go unless we're signing much, much better.
Especially if it's going to cost us.
Dragons are a weird one, They seem to be only signing players they can get with another club chipping in.

Hindsight tells us not many players in the squad progressed for the last few years
- Musgrove was out for a year before that...
I'm holding at this point.

ps: It's really tiring having most here assuming these "Kids" (most know nothing about)
are going to teach themselves the riggors of NRL.
#Joke

I agree with most of what you have said but just don't see his value.
However we shouldn't let him go without a prop replacement signed up.

Maybe they will look to Fafita for a year's gap if Musgrove goes and then snap someone else up after.

In a year if injury free - Stefano hits 50+ games, Pole could be in his 30 games, Twal close to 150 and Joffa 170+ - all of which younger than Musgrove.

Maybe they want our super junior props coming thru the system to fill his spot, please i have been watching and waiting for a solid front row forward for years and years to come from our system, not going to happen ??????????????????????????????

Big yes ✅️✅️✅️ from me for Mitch Moses.
He's improved over the years and has become a really well rounded player.

As the article says he solves our play maker issues.

Interesting these articles keep coming out, around us targeting 6s and 7s.... albeit is most likely speculation, it does make one wonder if Brooks or Adam are out the door....

Is something I really like the look of....

Also - losing Musgrove would be fantastic but we need some more hard forwards for the team asap, for 23 and onwards whilst our young guns develope.

Hopefully we can go to market and improve the pack.
