Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Great for you to believe it will be a legally enforced outcome.
I believe that compassion and wellbeing will be the deciding factor in the end.
We want players to be happy to play the game or with a team, not to be forced into something that they emotionally cannot commit to.
I understand it opens up a grey area with contracts but in reality it shouldn’t scrap the idea of contracts and the require to honour them at all. It should just make the NRL adjust their logic over an off contract player is one that is unsigned for the following season.

The majority of squad changes occur with the movement of contracted players. So what’s the point of waiting til the final year to deem them as off contract?
Compassion and wellbeing of the fans and most club employees hasn't been taken into account with Luke Brooks being kept on and being the 4th highest paid player in the NRL in 2023. So it shouldn't matter to keep IP

Don't get much more of a public declaration of your intention than signing a contract.

You would think.....
You would also assume it would be a non issue to confirm that's what you've done.

Instead of saying things like "I'll look at it with my manager after the season" and "My manager is looking after that" or the Parra coach coming out and saying "He's got a contract with the Tigers for next year that he's working through with his management"
and other flippant things like that
- Which show no real consideration to the contract 'we're' all clasping onto.

Matterson only had one season here
- And spent it arming himself with an arsenal of notes and incidents to get him out of the next 2 years.

Cool. So you have no evidence at all that he won't be coming and you just keep going on and on and on about it.

I can't live my life that way and I'm a loser who supports a dud team.

Based off rumours over last few weeks & GF teams announced

If Staines, Leniu and Moses join Papa & Api that will now give us 5 players from this GF in our ranks come 2024. Not a bad recruitment drive & way to bring in a winning culture.

I can't see Moses being here. It'd be funny. We'd have 4 first grade players who view themselves as halves in Hastings, Brooks, AD and Moses.

I don't like Moses but if I'm being honest he is the best out of the lot of them. I still don't want to get him.

I can see us getting Leniu and Staines though. Leniu I think would be for the following season but that could change.

I'd feel a lot more confident with Leniu in the squad for next season. We'd have another impact prop.

Great News on Shawn Blore as I believe if he can stay healthy he will add some starch to our defensive line which is needed.

Stefano wanting to also bypass the World Cup to focus on 2023 may have him primed for a big year and we all know that we need all the help we can get.

It was a crap year, however when you look back at how many injuries we had and how we got a few dodgy calls ( everyone does ) I can see improvement next year with some luck.

Karma on Kyle Feldt going into touch and Moses throwing an NFL pass for a try to knock them out should wipe his smile off his and at least put one on mine.

Panthers to beat the slimy's who can continue to hold the longest drought for a premiership.

My wish list no super stars , but would be more within our reach .
Lodge - front row muscle would pay up to $750,000 over 2-3 years
Nathan brown - backrow , good strong hitting and a good off loader , would pay $350,000 plus over 2 years
Leniu big hitter and strong runner , would pay $ 400,000 plus over 3 years
Conner Tracey , centre good speed good defender, would pay $350,000 over 2 years
I think we could get all of the above and still have money left over if someone else came available

Not trying to beat a dead horse here but I'm still not over how Melbourne wanted Nofa in exchange for JAC and Madge/Lee said no, then asked for Talau, who ended up getting injured for the whole season and we ended up loaning Nofa out anyway without anything in return, that stings man 😆
I’ll say it again if you were actively trying to kill off a rugby league club you would struggle to match the quality of decisions our boneheads make.

ASHLEY KLIEN.
WHO WAS THE VIDEO REFEREE IN THE RND 19 MATCH BETWEEN THE
WEST'S TIGER'S & NQL

HAS BEEN REWARDED FOR HIS INEPTITUDE, WITH THE NUMBER ONE RATING OF ALL THE REFEREE'S.

BY BEING SELECTED TO REFEREE THE BLOODY GRAND FINAL.

BEAT THAT ONE.

2 MTHS AFTER THE BIGGEST REFEREE BLUNDER OF ALL TIME AS THE VIDEO REFEREE HE IS GIVEN THE BIGGEST JOB ANY REFEREE IN THE GAME CAN BE GIVEN.

A GRAND FINAL.

A REWARD NORMALLY GIVEN TO WHAT IN THE NRL'S MIND IS FOR THE SEASONS BEST REF.

BUT THIS DECISION IS IN MY OPINION A FREEKIN JOKE.

WOULD BE LIKE GIVING A BEST AND FAIREST AWARD TO SOMEONE THAT WAS SUSPENDED FOR 2 OR 3 DIFFERENT OFFENCES.

IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

BUT THIS HAS.
