Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Not trying to beat a dead horse here but I'm still not over how Melbourne wanted Nofa in exchange for JAC and Madge/Lee said no, then asked for Talau, who ended up getting injured for the whole season and we ended up loaning Nofa out anyway without anything in return, that stings man 😆
how we didn't tell talau at that time exactly what 0enrith said to Mansour if you are here next year you will not be seeing first grade and he left for souths.
We should have told talau you either go to Melbourne storm and we get JAC or you play reserve grade for the year.
He probably would have gone

Do you think winning a gf or losing a gf is better for ip at eels. I know there's a contract etc but what do we think would actually be better , Id say winning. Go out on a high having achieved pinnacle with the club etc.

I cannot see any scenario either way he will be playing at the Eels next year.

Great for you to believe it will be a legally enforced outcome.
I believe that compassion and wellbeing will be the deciding factor in the end.
We want players to be happy to play the game or with a team, not to be forced into something that they emotionally cannot commit to.
I understand it opens up a grey area with contracts but in reality it shouldn’t scrap the idea of contracts and the require to honour them at all. It should just make the NRL adjust their logic over an off contract player is one that is unsigned for the following season.

The majority of squad changes occur with the movement of contracted players. So what’s the point of waiting til the final year to deem them as off contract?
The original reason that he supposedly had second thoughts was because Eels found extra money to give him, doubt Parramatta is in New Zealand , so the family thing is bullshit, all the extra money the Tigers pay him, he can use some to bring family over here

Why are you Chicken Littles still talking about IP's contract? Rock solid and all parties have come out publicly to declare that.

Papalii hasn't....

And before you mention his manager (Who just wanted to get the press off his back)
I'll leave some room for you to list all the times a manager in the NRL has conducted themselves in an honorary fashion.

How can we be sure it’s not another wobbly HoA? Addo-Carr said he never even signed his.
Is the Papali’i contract registered with the NRL?

Teams cannot announce a player signing unless it's registered by the NRL.
His contract is signed, registered and has been for some time.
The RLPA have also advised he will be with us which also confirms this.

Shawn Blore extends to 2024

Wests Tigers forward Shawn Blore has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2024 season.

The 22-year-old second rower missed the entire 2022 season after suffering an ACL injury in February.

He says he can’t wait for the new campaign to begin.

Wonder if he'll play a game

Compassion and wellbeing of the fans and most club employees hasn't been taken into account with Luke Brooks being kept on and being the 4th highest paid player in the NRL in 2023. So it shouldn't matter to keep IP

Don't get much more of a public declaration of your intention than signing a contract.

You would think.....
You would also assume it would be a non issue to confirm that's what you've done.

Instead of saying things like "I'll look at it with my manager after the season" and "My manager is looking after that" or the Parra coach coming out and saying "He's got a contract with the Tigers for next year that he's working through with his management"
and other flippant things like that
- Which show no real consideration to the contract 'we're' all clasping onto.
