Workers comp

Work in insurance
The Practice Manager's at the Medical Centres set a $250 fee normally now the catch is if your wife pays that then the nominal insurer likely icare however could be another AP then she will only be reimbursed the gazetted rate e.g. $140
You are better going to a gp who is not.going to charge a one off fee for workers comp not all practices do that it is a cash grab on there behalf.
Obviously once you have a certificate the claim can get lodged with the nominal insurer
If you want to pm me I am happy to talk you through it
I think $250 would be the gazetted rate + certificate of capacity, case conference and another equipment or aid provided (such as ice, voltaren etc).

No it is not initial certificate in nsw is $140 long consultation plus a $15 fee for the certificate
Plenty of medical practices in nsw do not charge any fee upfront for an initial consultation

Advice from tiger05 seems to be on the mark.
I believe cover problems arising from workplace accidents/claims
Fairwork is not workers compensation, the insurers can leave the worker out of pocket as the $250 fee is a practice fee and not gazetted, which means the insurer can argue they will not reimburse.
The insurer will always reimburse treatment e.g. medication etc

Seems a bit rough when her employer told her to go to a doctor and get a certificate.... How is she to know this doctor would charge for w/c... When we've all been there before and they bulk billed
BS hey.
I hope you and the forum brains trust can work this one out mate, a bit above my paygrade. I usually dial a friend 🤣
