Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we are amble to secure Lenui and Klemmer Pole would have some really tough no nonsense players to gain experience from , Both Klem and Lenui go forward and pole and Papi on the edges would be very good as they both go forward as well , then Blore coming in as back up , we have some really good go forward for our attack , Fingers crossed @Thepom can come on and confirm some of this player potential signings, appreciate CCTW info as well very positive

With Pole possibly moving to an edge and Talau likely moving to the forwards (second row no doubt), what will be the situation for Matamua and Kautoga? Will 2024 be their year?
That's a good problem. I suggest they will be spoon fed their NRL learning experiences going up and down grades as required.
You also have to throw in Tukimihia Simpkins whom I believe Tim rates highly 🤔

Saw that written here somewhere - Don't know that Sheens said it publicly...
I'd be keeping Musgrove over Tuki.
Having watched him a bit in Reserves, I don't see anything much in him...
To the point he's well behind Dias and Aitasi.

Tuki wouldn't have been near firsts at any other club...
Musgrove would've (And has) And will....
I can't say that for Tuki unfortunately...
I think it was the POM who posted it when he was giving a rundown on who was leaving/moved on.

Is there two of you?
Your Brooks posts are often poles apart.
How so?
My take on him is that he has been behind a terrible pack his whole career. We don't yet know how good he would or won't be playing behind a strong one. But I see no reason why he would not be successful if he had that opportunity.

I have heard the Simpkin one about the loan as I believe its been indicated Korisau will be 9 with a plan to use Nu Brown for a short interval as the backup, leaving Simpkin in reserve grade.

But I can not get the Leniu one. He knocked back Melbourne and said he wanted to be a panther for life. Also, why would Penrith let him go a year early?
Someone posted earlier that we were chasing Eddie Blacker and that Penrith wanted to keep him. Must come down to money as Leniu is the same age and streets ahead of Blacker.

Its strange that he was even in Port Macquarie. Interestingly Harry Grant was in Port the same day. Maybe Port Macquarie Sharks marquee signings.
Harry's grand parents live in Port. I played bowls with the grand father and he is super proud of Harry. Harry calls them every day to say hello seems like a really nice young fella.

Papalili, Api, Klemmer and Leniu would be the best recruitment period this club has had in it's entire history......

Bradman Best/Bronson Xerri/Jesse Ramien signing imo would pretty much make our club complete with the exception of our spine - with all these signings then we can really find out what Hastings/AD/Brooks/Laurie can really do all coming off contract too, the timing works well

What happened to the announcement in the next 7-10 days?? Was that rubbish or is it still happening

Didnt say some of those players wernt arrogant or egotistical. But they respect the club they play for & get nailed when they dont. Just see how Bellemy reacted to Munsters & Smiths acting like poor judgement. When they act like DHs it is swiftly dealt with. That is what we need here first, above buying just the best players. Im not against buying in quality players, but they have to believe that the Tigers can win a premiership, just like the belief Todd has instilled in the Cowboys.
Don't underestimate the influence of on field leadership in all of this too - not just the coaching staff.
Storm haven't been the same since Cronk and C Smith moved on - B Smith, Munster, etc have been the head honcho's around the joint, plus factor in the Bromich's leaving, it's probably not as easy to deal with these days.

Are you sure?
I thought he was born and bred in Sydney....
Merrylands maybe?

I've heard Stories that his old man played footy at a decent level
in the area also as a young bloke.
His family definitely live on the central coast or a bit further north

Twal to halfback might be a real chance at this point.

To be fair Talau to backrow has been talked about for years at the club & Laurie at the panthers was viewed as 5/8th for the longer term position. Pole no idea on.
I have my doubts about Lauries ability to defend in the front line.

Talau to the back row makes sense, but I’m not convinced that he isn’t better than both of our current centres as well.

Someone posted earlier that we were chasing Eddie Blacker and that Penrith wanted to keep him. Must come down to money as Leniu is the same age and streets ahead of Blacker.
They said we tried to sign him from the dragons or something and he ended up at Penrith, I believe...

Not we are currently chasing him.
