Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

the way some supporters blame him I don't blame him for moving on.
When we go crap in 2023 won't be able to blame him anymore
There was enough noise this season to suggest he wanted out - Newcastle have been very vocal about it. Won't surprised in the least if the club make it happen, and if he wants to go they need to.

The question is Joffa an 8 if we sign Klemmer &/or Lenui - I don't see it.
Assuming we get Klemmer and not Leniu, I’d go with Joffa and Klemmer starting with Stefano and Twal off the bench. Pole will play most games with injuries/suspensions happening but shouldn’t be rushed into playing every game.

Much stronger than Tamou and Musgrove starting.

Isn't the manager for the Knights' coach the same as for Brooks? Johns said the Knights are desperate for a half and if they don't get one for 23, the coach may be gone as well. I don't believe moving the coach on from the Knights would be in the interests of the manager who may have a number of his clients at the Knights?

2024 they will I don't think they will 2023 as we have no 7 and Sheens doesn't see Hastings as a 7
interesting Newcastle are not pursuing Hastings as a 7 either

They have been pursuing Brooks for 2 years They thought they had him last year which would indicate that Brooks must have given them some belief he was interested. They would have dropped off long ago if Brooks shut it down.

Oh look more sources 😂
Hardly a reputable source - however i hope they are on the money. The thing that worries me is the article states we are looking for a replacement. That would be typical of this club to let a spine player go without already having a replacement. And NO i don't think Douhie and Hastings is a better option - would have to be the worst halves pairing in the comp.

Did you consider that Brooks may want out and his manager is trying to help make that happen

As per the posts on suggested signings, it's obvious that 2024 is the year we are to start our comeback. Juniors mentioned will not make much of an impression next year and the side is weak. Hastings is good , not great, and is slow, one year to go on his contract is enough. AD is already on too much $ and one year to go is enough. We need speed and power, we need to clear the decks for the recruitment of key players, I think this is the plan, and i like it.

Just watched England /Samoa world cup. 4 clear things -;
1-Both Sualli & Crichton are not fullbacks bum cracks. Like most pretend fullbacks they are ok with the ball in their hands but their defensive positioning & laughable tacking is a joke. Wingers at best.
2-These "Superstar Penrith talents" (Luai, Crichton Tago & To'o ) were exposed as frauds when they are not running behind a dominant pack. The true champions of Penrith are the forwards, not Cleary & his mates.
3-Also, its amazing how these Superstars , including Sualli dont do real well when all the refs calls dont go their way like they get every week in the NRL.
4-Luai, The whole English team are your Daddies!

I considered this

1. Brooks is contracted until end of 23 with WTs.
2. Sheens and our Chair (and Marshall as well) have a high opinion of Brooks and stated he will be here in 23 and they want him to remain post 23 as a one club player.
3. If Brooks were to leave, it would not be to the Knights.
4. I'd back Sheens, Marshall and Farah over anyone the Knights have to offer in terms of negotiations.
5. Brooks has demonstrated over the years his loyalty to WTs. I admit it appears that was tested by Maguire ball but now Sheens, Farah and Marshall are here we are back on track.

Fancy wanting to leave the Tigers and being coached by one of the best of all time in Sheens to go to the Knights and being coached by Obrien. You would have to put up with Joey Johns also. If his coaching is anything like his commentary you would be asleep in no time.

No way, just listen to the posters saying how many times does Sheens has to say it, Brooks is staying and they want to extend him, I never believed it, I still don't, if they seriously want to make the team better, they need to make changes and that includes Brooks. If he leaves, and I hope he does, I wish him well, he just never became the player we hoped he would, that's not his fault, it's our unrealistic expectations
It seems very few people realise the difference it makes as a playmaker when you are playing footy on the front foot. As Tigers supporters it’s pretty rare that we get to see it because our forwards are always in a grind and very often losing that grind. A few times over the years the Tigers have blown sides away and usually in those games Luke Brooks plays a major role. I hope he gets to play behind a strong pack of forwards before he’s finished up, preferably here but if it’s elsewhere I’ll still be happy for the kid. Our forwards are fkn fairies.
