Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Brooks dropped the biggest hint he wants out when he said a few months back that his next contract he will put loyalties aside and make a decision that’s best for him….next thing he gets a calf injury and he’s out for the season….I’d place my money he has played his last game for the WT…..

Who cares about his ‘loyalty’?
He’s getting massive overs for being loyal and not producing anything decent for years.
He is not a halfback.
Goes ok one slot out from what we saw this year.
Ill take exception with that comment. Im sure as league lover you must have played in RL at some level in a team. If you have , you must understand the term loyalty. Years ago ,We played in the old State wide commonwealth bank cup, & we had a talented 5/8 who had received a scholarship to Sydney based private school team for the next year. Because he was so talented they wanted him to join them immediately . He refused because he had been in the trenches with us from day dot, Although we didnt past the quarter finals, we beat some of the more elite Sydney private schools who we were expected to lose against. That is loyalty. That is exactly the quality Brooks ., among others like Farah, are missing from this great club. .That quality is what gives the you strength to win against the odds. Seriously, if you dont understand loyalty, you dont underestand the foundation of what great clubs are built from . .

The Knights are arguably the most dysfunctional team in the NRL. Pointless changing the coach because the players run that club. Nathan Brown nailed what was going on up there. Albert Kelly is a very good player. The only reason he's not better regarded is because he let himself down earlier in his career. Always been a very dangerous footballer. But until he went back to the Broncos he was 20lbs overweight. Fought his way into the team the hard way. The club did the dirty on him letting him go.
Lachlan Fitzgibbon getting a juicy NRL contract shows how that club works. The guy is a fraud - not a first grader - yet has made a life based on his family connections.

Same Blokes who bash Brooks loyalty - also bask Tedesco for his lack of loyalty…

Go figure

I considered this

1. Brooks is contracted until end of 23 with WTs.
2. Sheens and our Chair (and Marshall as well) have a high opinion of Brooks and stated he will be here in 23 and they want him to remain post 23 as a one club player.
3. If Brooks were to leave, it would not be to the Knights.
4. I'd back Sheens, Marshall and Farah over anyone the Knights have to offer in terms of negotiations.
5. Brooks has demonstrated over the years his loyalty to WTs. I admit it appears that was tested by Maguire ball but now Sheens, Farah and Marshall are here we are back on track.
What absolute rubbish.
You can’t buy loyalty, so why pay for it? Why place a monetary value on it?

I think you can't bank on loyalty anymore. The best players want to play at clubs with players that are going to help them further their career goals and in turn their wealth.
It's up to the officials of a club to assemble a squad of players that give opportunity for players to achieve some level of success. WTs has consistently failed to do that and being dirty at the players who have found it elsewhere just seems futile.

Absolutely Telltails, we have shown a total lack of understanding of players’ needs. Api Koroisau hopes that we signed him for his footy skills and not his jokes.
