Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Who pays Brooks $1.1 million a year, no club that's who, we need to take our medicine and cut our losses with Klemmer coming onboard
Don’t agree, we can’t attract most players let alone a quality halfback. We have no replacement except for ‘Hastings the slug’. We have a truck load of cash in the cap, we can sign Klemmer and keep brooks. Unless we get a suitable replacement for brooks, it’s just not worth it!
I’d rather let sheens and co have their way with him and see what they can do. If brooks decides to leave in 24 so be it, at least we have time to replace him.

Losing Musgrove, our only forward with any fear factor(tho he only demonstrated it once or twice each year),on top of Tamou, surely suggests weve signed a couple of props...?
Not sure how we can announce departures but not arrivals..has me perplexed..?
If not,we'd better hope theres a under 90kg league somewhere...!
What fear factor. Looks.like Tarzan plays like Jane.

Not the worst but won't be a run on prop with his output

One forum member posted about Illawarra losing five of its best juniors to the Raiders. Here is an article which is very disappointing. I believe there are a couple of other Illawarra juniors now with the Raiders including Aust Schools centre Morkis. This is disheartening and highlights the rift between the Illawarra and St George.

Canberra has pulled off a shock attack on St George Illawarra, pinching five of the best up-and-coming players from the Dragons' ranks.
In an audacious move, the Raiders have lived up to their name by snaring five rising stars in a move that has infuriated the Dragons.
The five 18-year-olds were seen as part of the future plans of the Dragons - and at least six more quality youngsters have been signed by other clubs, as well.

The players who have made the move to the ACT are Country under-18s and Dapto fullback Jack Piccirilli, hooker Jaxon Lavender, the Dragons' under-18 player of the year from the Dapto Canaries, utility back Sean Trindall (Shellharbour Stingrays), fullback Judd Stevenson (Corrimal Cougars) and centre James Walsh (Albion Park).

Local officials in the Illawarra area are dismayed at the ambush by the Raiders, blaming the Dragons for failing to move on the talented youngsters.
"It's very disappointing and you can't blame the kids," one local league coach told Wide World of Sports.
"We have put 10 years of hard work into some of these guys.
"They are all massive talents but the Dragons just let them go."
News of the departures will be seen as another body blow by disappointed Dragons fans.
Only a few days ago, it was revealed that just three of the club's top-30 players turned up to the annual awards presentation night in a clear sign of the disharmony in the ranks.

Jedi, with all due respect I seldomly
Talk about the Brooks situation
Let alone bash him. I'm happy if
He stays, happy if he goes bro -
I'm backing the coaching and the
Recruitment unit to make that call.
I've just noticed you've got a target
On Doueihi's back, I'm just letting
You know that It's noted and a bit
Hypocritical - to the point where I've
Started to question the intentions
Behind it. A lot of punters on here
Are fed up with 10 or so years of
Brooks and inconsistencies,
Imo their argument is more warranted
Than the Doueihi talk, just saying
Man I think he’s just trying to say there’s plenty of hate for brooks on here. But doueihi has also been very poor at times this year, yet escapes criticism. Also doueihi has also stated that he will decide after the WC if he wants to stay, not exactly what u want to here!

Also, he's Italian, which is probably an issue for some here.

Definitely. If you don't like him as much as me it must be because you don't like Italians. If you don't agree with me it must be because you don't like cool people.

It's the best way to argue.
