Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The key is who comes in right.

I think though they are making the right calls to date on the existing crop.

Peachy, Gildart to go and from POM Simpkin also might be out.

Klemmer & Leniu right chases
Munster, Moses & Brown also good choices
Staines is better than we have & upgrade squad wise on Peach.

Naden 3yr extension is probably the only questionable call to date.

I don't disagree with any of that. Yeah Naden could have probably got a year or two tops, it could be worse though, he is probably better than most of our 3/4 line.

If rumours of further departures are true ( and the departure ones usually are its the arrivals ones that are not ) we lose Brooks , Gildardt , Peachy , Maumalo and Jake Simpkin out of a list of 27 which leaves 22 including the likes of Reilly ,Fainu and Tumeth who have never played at NRL level
Everyone happy saying we just sign Klemmer ,Spencer Leinu ,Staines and Dylan
Brown but apart from Klemmer I seriously doubt the rest .
Seems to me that a lot of blind faith is hoping for some great recruits in November.
Please no more over the hill aging forwards eg Woods

Prefer Woods for a year than some of those we have let go if it means we keep cap and roster space to build in 24/25.

Being realistic not a huge top line talent will get released early in 23 with the cap increasing larger than expected so gap fill roster players will play a part I feel.

I have a player in mind whom was a Canberra half a couple of years ago, whom is now playing superleague but I can't remember his name. I thought at the time that we should have gone after him,im hoping that he is one that Sheens will be taking to.

Williams killed it in the England game.

I'd strongly consider Nathan Brown if Parra covers some of his freight.

I know he's not popular around these parts for a number of reasons, but he's as good a ball player as they come for forwards and lets us move Hastings to the 7 full-time without sacrificing a lot in terms of that ball-playing 13.

8. Klemmer
9. Koroisau
10. Ofahengaue
11. Papali'i
12. ???? (Blore)
13. Na. Brown

14. Twal
15. Utoikamanu
16. ????
17. Pole/Nu Brown/Talau

Step in the right direction...

You are probably thinking of Aidan Sezer, who played for Leeds this season. I don’t think he would come back, as he had quite a few offers to come back to the NRL for 2022, but the best offer he got was about $300000 less a season than Leeds were paying him. He stayed in England for the better money and the fact that he can probably play until he is late thirties over there.

we likely won't be moving Hastings to 7 though, he will take the 13 role

If we're paying him a million next year and we have an opportunity to free up $700k by letting him go that is a good second rower or centre. I absolutely think we should be pursuing that.

Numbers getting about are that we're losing the player - And paying the 700k
Surely not.
