Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Why do you keep putting AD at 7. I would imagine it would be better, if we are in that situation, which I hope we’re not, to try DL at 7 and AD at 6. Better balance imo.
7 is mostly played on the right side which is AD preferred side
Suits Laurie aswell at 6 since he’s preferred side is left

According to @Demps if you sign in 2024 you can be released in 2023
so if Hastings signs with dogs or whoever in 2024 he can go in 2023 apparently
According to me..?

I'm not sure if you're that naive or you just cannot come to terms with loss.

Brooks can sign for 2024 and request an early release. The club can deny it... but as I've already explained in detail, it would not be in the clubs best interest to do this.

A fair and reasonable request can not be denied.

It's simple called.. the family card.

Luke Brooks: "My wife is about to give birth and I wish to move my family to a quiet beach side town and raise my family away from the Sydney spotlight which constantly berates me for my lack of footballing ability."

The club will not be painted in a good light if they choose not to greenlight this move.

As I said before, exercise some common sense

Hastings hasn't requested 3 releases....

He's openly stated he wants to stay at the Tigers and be apart of what we're building.

What I'm saying.... is, imo... Brooks is as good as gone.

I'm basing this on the information we've been told and confirmed by @THE_POM ... can you think the media backlash around us denying a player a release two years in a row when he's desperately wanting out? All we heard on 360 this year was how Brooks and the club need to part ways and its best for all parties involved, especially Brooks. Think of the mental anguish if would put one through being forced to play on at a club he clearly does not want to be at? Think of how that would effect his performances? (Lolllll) is that the narrative Sheens wants in the media?

Sometimes it's easier and for the best to just let something go, no matter how much you (or Sheens)loves it, especially if it doesn't love you back.

I think most of agree he's gone.

But we want to know who the new 7 will be. Don't think the new 7 is currently in our squad.

Current squad variations would be

1 Staines
6 AD
7 Hastings

1 Staines
6 Laurie
7 Hastings

1 Staines
6 AD
7 Brooks

1 Laurie
6 AD
7 Hastings

1 Staines
6 Laurie
7brooks

1staines
6 Hastings
7 brooks

Club have to figure out best combo. Brooks gives us more options.

Disagree , imo both should be able to play both sides.
I’m just comparing the preferred sides around the comp look at all the best 7s, Cleary, Moses , Fogarty , Reynolds all prefer right side
Same as 6 Munster plays left when 6, Dylan brown, Cody walker.
List goes on

Question for those saying Hastings might not be here in 2024.

Given the turnover for 2023, do you think anyone will definitely be here in 2024? I don’t think anyone is guaranteed.

Brooks isn't going to give you any options when he's pulling on a red & blue jersey...

The blue print is set.
Brooks is about to get his release.
@Jedi_Tiger owes me a kebab.

agree we don't want a tanking situation on our hands but not sure Sheens is keen with just AD Laurie as halves 23. Obviously Sheens coming back from u.k. might change his mind at present if a release was asked it was 2 days ago

All I will say is look at the way Cleary plays both sides, that’s basically what I’m talking about.
Can attack or defend left or right but will say he has Yeoh playing a pivotal role to enable that.

This has been a long time coming...

Sheens can deny the request & face the backlash, bad publicity and persist with a player that doesn't want to be here.... but, is he going to do that ?

I'm going to say no.

There's literally no logic behind that.

Two 5/8s and the 7 wearing 13 is something we've already seen take place though.

AD being the Rob Lui, 6 wearing 7
DL being the Benji, a 6 in the 6 and the mastermind in the 13.

The blueprint is set.

Yeah I know that but I’m just putting numbers on preferred sides, AD and Laurie can both play either side as they’ve both played fullback

it looks 2024 he is gone, club doesn't have to release 2023 and what benefit ? pom said klemmer deal had nothing to do with Brooks being released
