Gotta give him a little more credit coming from a dual premiership side where securing a spot is fierce. Imagine he walks into most other starting NRL sides....as a winger for now.

I'd say it's because we agreed to take him at full freight for 2023 and will weigh up his value moving forward into 2024 after that. He is reportedly on $500k. This was a story a few months ago.

My Penrith source says he was on $350k next year, same as Peachey.

Staines is a meh signing. Looked average in a good side. Looked good in reserve grade.

Have seen how that goes here as we have recycled a number of these sort of players over the years.

Obviously we need to sign some players to replace the garbage we are leaving out for the council clean up, but anywhere near 500k for what is another club’s reserve grader is ridiculous.

His form at fullback looks much better then his form on the wing IMO.

For every JAC, there is a number of Peachey, Jennings, Packer, Reynolds type signings we want to get rid of after a year. JAC was actually probably the last player we signed that got better at WT.
