just because he’s able to negotiate with others from November 1st dosent mean he’ll be signing for anywhere else
He’s be waiting to get a feel for the tigers once the season starts before making any decisions

Given that Penrith were desperate to offload him given the fact they overpaid him massively after 3 games and that we were the only club willing to eat that contract, we have time on our side.

Whichever way you look at it, our squad for 2023 is looking much better than previous years.
The only departing player I will miss is Luke Garner

Unlike Tuilagi and Luce, Garner put in an effort till the end.

In someways the squad had had upgrades, in our backrow & frontrow so far we are worse off & that is a major issue.

Yes. I have not had such hope since we signed packer, matulino & Reynolds. The future is bright.

I don't want to piss on anyones parade, but the reason we were able to get Staines is:

1) Both players were willing to swap clubs
2) Both clubs were willing to swap players

No other club offered Staines anything. Staines was lucky to get a deal given his salary.

Players don't improve significantly in 6 months - watch some Penrith games from this year and you can expect more of the same with our club next year.

I really don't get why people expect players to become better when they sign with us. The bigger and very real risk is they become worse.

Glad it's only a one year deal.

If clubs have not given permission for players under contract for next year permission to negotiate, then there is obviously illegal tampering going on.

Yep, the Brooks media (via Manage?) alert is a clear case of tampering with the rules. Brooks ca have a discussion with Knights as much as he likes. But he cannot say that he will be AT the Knights in 2024 cos that implies that he has in fact negotiated a deal for that year or years.
