Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Have you seen what he looks like now? Probably gained 10-15KG on his frame after coming back from his injury.

I am assuming at the moment that he will move to the 14 position to play as a utility, although I just don't see him having the same movements.

Love to be proven wrong, hope Talau my boy rips in!
Yeah wow, makes for a heavy centre. He can partner Klemmer at prop lol

There are many others, including me, also wanting Brooks to stay at WT in the halves for at least 2023. Firstly, regardless of the club's lack of success, having watched him and our other signed alternatives over the past two seasons, he remains our best halves option for mine.

Secondly, he is both NRL standard and a club junior, which for me is the basis of my support for the club, which when later joining with another in Wests, subsequently kept it. So same goes for Nofoaluma and Doueihi, even if to a slightly lesser extent Doueihi, as he didn't start his career at WT, and others that came over as schoolboys.

I understand that most others don't have the same connection as those that either played in one of the local junior competitions, volunteered or had friends or family that did as part of the league community. As such, I am always for prioritising the keeping of juniors still at NRL level, at or close to market rate.

3 members of the spine.
Well let them all go?
Do you believe that?
Well we did come last so yes he may well look at changing all of them
I think if Sheens thought Hastings was the answer at 7 he would let Brooks go 2023 think Sheens is happy with hasting playing 13
Think he may be looking at a Moses or Dylan Brown to play 6 / 7 yet does not necessarily want to lose Douhie but may play him at centre as we do not have one and he has played it well before.

Perfect world he probably would like to play Hastings as a 13 question is will Hastings want to do that or will he want to play 7 ? if he does then he will leave

Same with Douhie if he sees himself as the 6 and Sheens sees him as a centre and Douhie wants to play 6 then he will likely leave

If Brooks just wants out and to chase cash at Newcastle as a 7 then he will leave

It may well be all three are gone in 2024

Sheens isn't stupid, I am more then sure he'll keep on saying we're keeping Brooks until Knights offer 800K and we chip in 200K minimum.

If I was the coach I'd get rid of Brooks for free.

Agree if he wants to play Hastings at 7 he will get rid of Brooks 2023, just not sure that is what Sheens wants from Hastings
we will see

See what happens.
It'd be a big move if it was to play out like that.

Pretty sure he rates a 6 we have coming through

- He's only looking for the right 7 to bring him through behind.
Which out of LB, JH, & AD is the right 7?

Answer = Probably None.

Might even go get Tane Edmed back from Yawnion....
He only left because he wanted to play 6, And the club wanted him to play 9.

I'd be happy if we got some awesome forward signings, imo backs can be developed under Sheen/Marshall. Most of our recourses should be used to get a forward pack capable of taking us "forward"

Been closely attention to the squads in the world cup.

Surely there's a few unknowns waiting to be unearthed...

I watched this lad the past two weeks, playing for the Cedars named Khalil Rahme.

I'm not saying we should sign him but he's a run of the mill front rower that plays like Woods and RCG.

Commentators mentioned he's a lower grader at Doggys and has no contract moving forward.

Surely some club would look at players in this tourney and find some value in some of em....

Roosters signing news from NRL.com “
The Roosters have announced the signings of Jake Turpin and Jaxson Paulo while also confirming Angus Crichton has extended his stay at the club.

Crichton has re-signed on a new two-year contract which will take him through until at least the end of the 2024 season while Paulo (two years) and Turpin (one year) will join the Tricolours in 2023.”

I am all for prioritising juniors and retaining the good ones, but the Brooks experiment has been going on 9 seasons, it is way past time to stop the rinse and repeat formula that has failed us time after time
