Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

God that list is sad reading. Fainu, Reilly, To'a all here for at least 2 years. Nofa and Naden for 3. In ti top level NRL side, these are not the names that you build your team around.
Noffa and Naden are squad members for most sides. Noffa on too much coin though. If the others don’t perform they will be let go like the deadwood this season.

Fair comment and I can go along with that, but I cannot see the reason for not branding the KOE team as Wests Tigers other than to appease some dinosaurs that sit on the board.
I cant see the need to kill off a foundation club without a good reason.
The two must successful teams of the last 20 years don't have reserve grade teams of the same name. Only 7 out of the 16 clubs do.

Haven't seen him, but sounds like he's a running player, a fullback or 5/8 rather than an organising type? Not sure that's what we need but I'd take it just to try something different

Agree. I’ve only seen one game of him against Samoa I think, & he carved them up with his running & passing game. Granted the opposition were off but the ease at which he was putting his team mates away was classy. With all the blokes we’ve cut the last couple of months I wouldn’t mind seeing him in our squad fighting it out for the fb or 5/8 jersey especially if Hastings stays at either 1/2 or lock.

Naden until 2025 was a real head scratcher.

I don't mind To'a. Young and had a go. Has a bit of speed and ability. May never be a world beater but not everyone is.
Naden is a significant step up on our other center options, with maybe the exception of Doehie who doesn't want to play there anyway. Toa and Kepoa are not strike centers but could improve under Sheens (look what he did for Ayshford).

Weren't we deep in talks with Parker from Manly? That has gone quiet so maybe it was all rumour...

Those last 4 signings are going to be definite upgrades IMO. First grade ready front rower (Klemmer), second rower, centre (TBA). The mutual option for 2024 would be the reason WT may seek to ship Maumalo off early, particularly with some young outside backs coming through the ranks. Interesting Saukuru only has a DC for 2023. Wouldn't surprise if Seyfarth wasnt retained either beyond 2023.
Saukuru spent the majority of the season on the sidelines injured (only played half a dozen games I think). I guess they will see how he goes with more games under his belt and re-assess. Hopefully has some luck staying on the field and can show whether he is worthy of a Top 30 spot for 2024.
