Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think Stains will kill it at fullback. Lauries a maybe, dont expect miracles first up. The other 2 will not be their at years end. If Brooks stays i see Api playing in the halves with him, till such time as Sheens buys or promotes a decent 5 and 6 ,.,. The aim i think is 2024 .
Correction i meant 7 and 6 .

Ben Houston, captain of Randwick Rugby Union Club, one to keep an eye on. A big, mobile prop/second-rower, made the most tackles in the Shute Shield last season and has decided to try his hand at league. Sheens mentioned at this stage he is on a train and trial contract but is fitting in very well.

He has a minimal league background but is big, mobile and aggressive… we can see a bit there.
We will see how he goes in the trials.

Fast elusive types - 2023 Brooks and Laurie, Staines at 1, Hastings at 13

I should mention Laurie throws a great pass and plays like a second 5/8 from fullback.

You are confident mate but I can't see it happening let alone working. Brooks looks to be gone. Laurie is completely unproven at NRL level in the halves. I can't see Hastings being able to play that lock role all season.

Staines at 1 may work.

I'm becoming like Happy Tiger.

Agree, Benji and Prince ---- Hastings and AD, like comparing Ferraris to Combie vans.

We would not have got to the 2005 finals, with this pair, and the game is far quicker today. Sheens knows this, both WT and Raiders that he coached to premierships had great halves, has have all the great sides. I don't think Brooks, AD or Hastings are great , but of the three i would take Brooks.

Correction i meant 7 and 6 .
Brooks has got to go .can't organise a team at all

Laurie has a far better pass on him than Doueihi, He is faster, his defence is superior and Gould on commentary said his position is 5/8.

Parramatta have thrown fan favourite Zac Cini a lifeline. Cini – who played four games for the Tigers last season – played reserve grade for the Eels this year. He will move into a development spot at the Eels for next season before being handed a top 30 contract in 2024. (DT)
