Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Maybe Sheens think Jacko is a ball hog and he wants more ball movement....

It was mentioned he wants more attacking, go forward game play....

Perhaps an offloading 13 that plays a basic game and doesn't think they're in charge...

Ala Fulton, Heinington.....
I think Sheen’s is smart enough to get the best out of players and if he thought Jacko was hogging the ball he’d certainly let him know to stick to the game plan.

Hastings is considered a 13.

Maybe but performances can change how people feel extremely quickly.

Personally I'd play him at 7. It's a matter of if you prefer a ball playing lock leading the team around the park with two running halves outside him or a bigger pack.

I like the idea of the two running halves but will it work over the course of the season.

At this time Hastings will be here in 2023 as a 13. If he were to be released (all speculation) wouldn't the Knights be keen?

I'll preface by writing this is based off that social media post.

We have Hastings for 2023 and by 2024 Matamua and possibly Faagutu may be ready to play NRL. Both are exceptional talents. Other NRL clubs will be looking at Hastings and we have 13 well-covered.
Are we even certain we have this Faagutu kid?
He is not even listed in the squad announcement on the website.

Doubt it, if it were do you think they would work as assistants together, but the biggest thing for me was Benji telling Robbie to hit Cleary up about coming back to the club.

Nothing is set in stone at this point though is it. We are just reading tea leaves. I agree with your assessment of the messaging right now but Sheens could roll over in his sleep tonight and decide Hastings is the man at 7.

Agreed. If (big if) Hastings were released in 2023, wouldn't the Knights be all over him? If so, wouldn't WTs be asking for Dominic Young in exchange not Tyson Frizzell?

Who knows, but maybe Sheens has got his hands on a halfback from the ESL? If they're prepared to pay the transfer fee for Bateman, why wouldnt they also be prepared to pay the transfer fee for a good half?

If they did that it would put a line through all the pluses and minuses of both Brooks and Hastings and start new.

How about everyone just sit and wait to see what sheens comes up with , Iam certain he has a plan and is working his way though that plan , I like everyone else want to know who they have signed or who there after but we will know very soon . It will be like Xmas when u get to open them presents 😝👍

Not as brave as Sir Luke at his first training session for Newcastle.View attachment 3103
News just in is that when Luke arrived for a tout of the premises Klem mistook him for the midget in the throwing comp and threw him for a new record distance. Luke got the shits and walked out, rang Sheens and said I’ll sign as long as you don’t sign any knights players. COB today. Stake my rep on it and all my Tazos.
